An update since the 1st time I went to Shaq. First off, I was asked to move my appointment time earlier (I scheduled this appointment with her WEEKS i...n advance) from 10am to 8am bc her significant other had something planned for them to do at 12pm, cool no worries. Customer service was good. Vibes were good. Went and sat under the dryer, I noticed that some rubber bands were missing from my two strand loc style because she didn’t have enough to finish. But someone bought her some and she finished putting the rubber bands on AND had to go back and add a loc into a two strand bc she overlooked it, fine no worries. Everything looked good, I left. Here’s where things went wrong…I was at the stop light, I looked down at my locs and noticed the rubber bands were already popping off my two strands. So I circled back to the shop, a lil annoyed bc the rubber bands shouldn’t be popping at all. And she tells me “rubber bands pop!” (Come on now, really? not ONE rubber band popped when she did my hair the last time) as shes pulling them off my locs. I merely just wanted to show her that the rubber bands were snapping, and she calls me aggressive and told me not to come near her. So she called She calls the police on me…Never have I had the police called on me for “violent” behavior or on any other occasion…I have ZERO criminal charges. Even when the police arrived, they said “ we see a lot of people every day, and you are by far from aggressive!” They even asked Shaq was I aggressive towards her, and she told them no. So why lie? Why even call them? I doubled back a second time bc she slayed my hair previously, I tipped her and left her a really nice 5 star review AND bragged on her to other folk. I felt like my service was rushed because she was trying to make her planned outing with her significant other on time. And I normally dont leave reviews but this was a must. Im sure everyone else has had a great experience, bc I did my very first time coming to her as well. However, I am so disgusted by her behavior when I circled back this time. I even had to go back in for extra rubber bands AFTER she replaced the rubber bands the SECOND time. Its definitely mind boggling, even as Im typing this review, rubber bands are still popping. And look how big the rubber bands are in the photos, literally appalled. I guess my level of expectation was too high. (1st Time Review) Shaq was polite and personable. She done my loc retwist and style just the way I like it! The atmosphere was also calm and welcoming. I will be back for sure! Thanks again! Show more

I’m sorry for the experience but I don’t allow hostile customers in my environment that I work in around younger kids especially. As far as your hair I done what I could to rectifying the situation(rubberbands pop) your hair was never not done properly you received a full wash retwist and 2 strand. 2 rubberbands popped i offered to replace but you wanted money back for 2 rubberbands popped. Yes I called the police once you expressed wanting money back which was not an option. I truly hope you find a stylist to your liking. Best wishes to you!shes
