Yesterday marked my second visit to this salon, and it was also my first experience with a sew-in. The total cost amounted to $910, broken down as fol...lows: $210 for the sew-in, $150 for a "custom" color which my hair is #27 and the color ended up being more of a #33 which I didn't even complain about, and $340 for three bundles of Peruvian hair, despite being initially quoted $50 per bundle. It was later explained by the stylist, Betina, that the $50 price applied to Brazilian hair, which, according to her, wouldn't take color well. Consequently, I ended up paying $113.33 per bundle for the Peruvian hair. I also had my daughter’s hair done, which brought the total expenditure to $910. Unfortunately, the quality of service did not meet expectations. Betina braided both of our hair into very large sections and doubled the weft when sewing it in, resulting in a bulky and lumpy appearance. For nearly $1,000, I anticipated a smooth, natural-looking sew-in. As someone who doesn’t regularly get sew-ins, I was unable to observe the braid pattern while my hair was being done. However, when Betina braided my daughter’s hair, I noticed the bulkiness but trusted her expertise given our previous experience at the salon. Regrettably, both of our hairstyles ended up protruding from our heads rather than laying flat. When I reached out to Betina to address my concerns, she responded by saying that she doesn't do thin braids due to the risk of hair loss and advised me to give it some time, as it was a new style for me. Unfortunately, I had to remove the style the very next day, despite paying $700 for it. I understand that these are challenging economic times, and offering a partial refund may not have been feasible for her. However, it’s disappointing that she didn't propose any alternative solutions. The fact that I can't even wear the style in a ponytail, despite spending $700, is incredibly frustrating. I cried about this for real. Please see the attached photos for reference. The black hair is my daughter's. **UPDATE:** I've added more photos showing how she braided my hair down. While taking it down, I discovered rock-hard pieces. It turns out she added synthetic braiding hair to mine and, for some inexplicable reason, burned the ends. I have a full head of hair, so there was no need to add anything—let alone set it on fire. To make matters worse, she burned my actual hair as well. I had to cut off a burnt piece, and I've included a photo of it. At this point, it feels like I paid nearly $1000 for her to ruin my hair. The braid pattern is a complete mess, and she actually burned my hair. Seriously, why is fire involved in a sew-in?! That's just crazy! Given my experience, I can’t recommend her at all. However, if you choose to go, proceed with caution. Show more
