First time @ 10th Ward. I booked a haircut for my 14-year old son via Booksy @ 10th Ward who had his hairline jacked up when my lovely wife erroneous...ly got it cut at a salon. It’s surprisingly lowkey on the outside, hard to find. Inside, the atmosphere’s got a distinct… Lawrenceville vibe (liberal urban anarchy mixed with anime and the Matrix soaked in caffeine, bespoke tattoo ink and handcrafted vape juice). The mix of iconography on the walls has “welcome” in all kinds of nerdspeak if you’re attentive: Wu-Tang, warlocks, slobs and precisionists are equally welcome. Barber Jordan didn’t flinch when my son asked for a “Miles Morales fade” but he warned (wisely, as expected) that he’d have to take his whole situation down first/today and that he’d have to build his style back up once his hairline uh…. recovered in a few weeks. Jordan was good - then hooked my son up with a good fade and a recut hairline in :40 minutes and had him looking fresh and clean! Oddly this joint is cash only, even though I had to book it via Booksy, which requires a card to reserve. Apparently it’s just insurance if you’re a no show. Fair warning that the ATM bandit (conveniently resting in the back) charges a hefty fee for cash withdrawals. I do recommend tho. $35 is fair for a good FAST hassle-free haircut that is quicker than a doctor’s checkup. Show more
