Hydration Steam Treatment The

I booked a medium boho braided Malaysia style for my 13-year-old daughter, and while the final look was beautiful and the stylist is clearly talented,... the overall experience had several challenges that made it stressful and disappointing. We had spoken several times before the appointment, so I expected everything to be confirmed in advance. However, when we arrived, the stylist didn’t have braiding hair that matched my daughter’s hair color. As a first-time client, I didn’t know to double-check, but I do feel that could’ve been reconfirmed in our conversations beforehand. The stylist was kind enough to go pick up the hair herself, which we appreciated—but it did delay the start time. We originally booked medium boho, but she suggested doing small-medium, which looked great but likely added more time. The style was also booked as waist-length, and it was never mentioned that it might require more hair. The listing clearly said 2–3 packs of 48in hair were included, but only one pack was provided. I ended up having to leave work, drive 45 minutes round trip to the beauty supply store, and pay out of pocket for more hair—even though the stylist had already been to the store that morning. That part was really frustrating and could’ve been avoided with clearer communication. We were there from 8:30 AM to 9 PM—over 13 hours, which is a lot, especially for a 13-year-old. Also, the address listed on Booksy was incorrect, which delayed our arrival. And lastly, the stylist posted photos of my daughter without permission, which should never happen—especially when working with minors. After the appointment, I respectfully texted the stylist with questions and concerns before leaving a review. Instead of a conversation, I was blocked on Booksy, and she later posted about me on Instagram, which felt incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. As someone running a business, there should be space for feedback—especially from first-time clients just trying to understand the process. Pros: • The stylist is a licensed cosmetologist, which gave me peace of mind • The studio was clean and secure, with code-entry access • Wi-Fi was available, which was helpful for such a long appointment • The location was great once we figured out the correct address • The stylist is very skilled • The final style looked beautiful, and my daughter loved it Cons: • Hair color wasn’t confirmed despite multiple communications • Only one pack of hair was provided, not the 2–3 listed in the booking • Had to leave work and purchase additional hair out of pocket • No mention that waist-length required more curly/Boho hair • Appointment lasted over 13 hours • Incorrect address listed on Booksy • Photos of my daughter were posted without permission • When I raised concerns, I was blocked and later posted about publicly • The stylist could be more professional in both communication and how she handles client concerns Overall, the style was beautiful and my daughter was happy with the result. But the experience behind the scenes was frustrating and could’ve been handled with more care and professionalism. If you’re a new client or booking for a child, I strongly recommend asking lots of questions in advance and confirming every detail to avoid surprises. Show more
