I’ve never really gotten my hair dyed before and unfamiliar with terminology which I disclosed from the moment I sat in Courtney’s chair, so let me ju...st start with that. Initially called asking about stylists specializing with thin/fine hair because I’ve had bad experiences in the past. Was recommended Courtney by the man who takes the phone calls. Sent my inspo pics and was quoted $175 for “partial highlight + cut”. Arrive and show Courtney the same inspo pics and she suggests balayage. I’m like ok yea you’re the professional if that’s what this is then let’s do it. Mind you I don’t know the difference between partial highlights and balayage. There was no explaining other than “super low maintenance”, no disclosing price differences, and hardly any reluctance to walk me through what was going on as she lathered bleach on my head within 5 minutes of sitting in the chair. Another thing I want to disclose is she is really rough with the brush. I’m not tender headed so I don’t mind, but seeing as I asked for someone specializing in thin/fine hair you might want to consider elsewhere if every strand is precious to you. I end up really liking the color and the cut and leave feeling great. I paid $240 + a generous $60 tip. After the fresh blow dry and salon-style-look is gone, I realize the front pieces are not as blended as the rest of my hair. I don’t really pay much attention to it because it’s supposed to be balayage and not touching the root, but after about 4 weeks it looks super grown out and opposed to the “hardly any touch up” that Courtney had praised about the balayage. I’m about to go on a trip so I call, send pictures, and explain my problem. They get me in same day (which is a plus I’ll give them that), but upon arrival it seems like my request hasn’t been communicated so I explain to Courtney how the front seems really grown out for a short time. She tells me my hair must grow really fast….right…any thin/fine haired girlies knows this just isn’t true. I let her proceed but already have a feeling that I’m going to get charged more than I think. Turns out she charges me almost an entire root touch up, which is listed as $75 on here, for my TWO front pieces… there were 2 foils on my head😀. I immediately ask why it’s so much. She halfheartedly explains that she can’t help how fast peoples hair grows, money pieces are different than balayage so it’s not as blended, snobbily asks if I want the treatment for free - to which I say no but I’m shocked at the price - then proceeds to text on her phone as the $67 charge stares at me. I feel like my confusion and disappointment could’ve been avoided if there was more of an effort to explain the differences in treatments from the beginning and if I had asked upfront for pricing. So maybe that’s my fault, but do what you will with this information. I won’t be returning. Side note: I was never offered a free consultation which also could’ve helped with price confusion. **EDIT: after they responded they went and added “money piece/face framing” to their pricing. Still doesn’t account for a simple root touch for this service and still ridiculous to charge $67 for this amount of hair root touch up. If this is the “luxury” price you want to pay for mediocre service, by all means go for it. I’ll be disputing the charge

We are glad you left your initial June 27 appointment happy with both your color and haircut, but we are sorry that your follow-up interaction left you feeling disappointed. We would like to clarify a few details for anyone reading. Your follow-up appointment occurred 39 days after your original service—three days short of six weeks—not approximately four weeks later. At that point, visible regrowth around brighter face-framing pieces is considered routine maintenance rather than a correction to the original service. Had you contacted us within three days of your original appointment with concerns about the finished result, we would have gladly evaluated and corrected it without charge. The service performed at the follow-up appointment and its price were also included in the appointment confirmation sent by email and text before you arrived. We understand that service terminology can be confusing, and we are always happy to explain the difference between balayage, highlights and face-framing maintenance when questions arise. We regret that you felt dismissed when discussing the charge. That was never our intention, and we appreciate the opportunity to improve how we communicate service options, maintenance expectations and pricing.
