I booked an appointment for my 9-year-old daughter’s knotless braids for spring break based on recommendations from other moms at her school, so I had... high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Ms. Ladonna arrived about 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time without any communication. Once she started, there was no consultation regarding braid size or parting, which I would have appreciated—especially for a child. At the end of the appointment, I was informed of an additional $15 fee because my daughter’s roots were not fully straight, which was never discussed beforehand. Transparency around pricing is really important, and this felt unexpected. Additionally, the braids were not truly knotless as requested. My daughter also mentioned that the braids were very tight, and the ends were not properly tucked, leaving quite a bit of her natural hair sticking out. On a positive note, she did work quickly and finished in about 4 hours, which I appreciated. Overall, I was disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism throughout the appointment. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future clients.
