I went to Manuela for permanent eyeliner. I don't like her new open-plan salon. It is busy and noisy with training classes being held in the same room.... However, this would not be bad if Manuela did not let herself get distracted. A distracted therapist is not what you want for a permanent eyeliner procedure! During my treatment, a male person kept asking her stuff, and she was telling them where to find things instead of letting them know she is busy and would help them later. At one stage, she even got up and left me waiting there for a long while. When she came back, she was totally distracted, and soon after that, she said she was finished. I was surprised as it felt like she'd worked less on the left eyelid than on the right. In the end, she did not even show me what my eyeliner looked like, so I scratched around in her trolley for a mirror. I was so disappointed with what I saw, The left bottom lid eyeliner was lighter than the right side. And only half the bottom lids were done. No wonder she didn't hand me the mirror herself. When I told her what I saw, she brushed it off, saying that it'll settle down after a few days and start to look better. She said that she'd send me the aftercare instructions, but this was only done 36 hours later. I left that salon with my eyes feeling very scratchy and utterly disappointed with the results. It's been weeks now, and eyeliner still does not look any better as she said it would. Show more

Hi Harriet, thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you left feeling disappointed, as my clients’ comfort and results are always my priority. Regarding the open-plan setup, I understand it may not suit everyone. We’ve already installed curtains and will keep booths enclosed at all times moving forward. With your treatment, I took extra care not to over-traumatize the skin as your eyes are deep set, which is why one side healed lighter. This is normal and is why touch-ups are essential. Just to remind you, permanent eyeliner heals in phases: • Days 1–3: darker and more defined • Days 4–7: flaking/patchy • Days 7–14: “ghosting” (faded look) • Weeks 4–6: true colour resurfaces We also discussed keeping your eyeliner natural to begin with, and I showed you the mirror midway to confirm thickness. At your retouch we can deepen the colour and perfect balance. As a goodwill gesture, I’d like to offer you 10% off your next session, now with the added privacy of our newly enclosed booths.
