Let me start by saying that I love my hair and hope that you can take my constructive criticism and improve on a few things in the near future. I was referred to you by a friend, and another friend also used your services and didn’t have the best e...xperience. However, I didn’t allow that to persuade me to cancel, I said maybe it was just one of those days and it’ll be better when I go! Unfortunately this was not a pleasant experience! I’m not sure how serious you are about your business, but first impressions are lasting impressions as people but especially in business, and the fact that my appointment was at 10am (with a non refundable required $50 deposit) and you didn’t inform me that you were running late until 9:56am, stated that you would be about 20 minutes late, but don’t arrive until 11 am is unacceptable and very unprofessional. Once you came in, you didn’t acknowledge or apologize for your lateness and disregard for my time. You asked if I knew how to thread the needles, that’s not my job. Then you proceeded to say say you wish I would’ve mentioned that my hair was short due to you possibly not being able to catch my hair without using braiding hair, but usually you would have clients get it braided else and knock off $20, there were a few things wrong with this part: 1. I am a new client, I don’t know what you’re good at. 2. It’s not fair to assume all of your clients have longer hair 3. If you know that braiding short hair isn’t a strong suit for you, then it may be better to “ask” clients that in advance, in the same email you send when mentioning the deposit and asking about what type of hair they want. There’s another stylist in Paterson who doesn’t braid but their installs are flawless, the solution to his problem was to hire a braider. 4. Knocking off $20 wouldn’t have sufficed, it costs more than $20 to get my hair braided. Not to mention, if you weren’t able to catch it I would have had to find someone to braid it last minute for me after already waiting for an hour. I wanted the hair straightened but it was already after 2pm and I no longer had the time or patience to sit through it. I Left at 3pm. All of this to say in business it’s not just about doing good work, but it’s also simple common courtesy, professionalism, and time management that can take you & you business a long way! I’m hoping it can be a learning experience and helps your business to grow. Sincerely. Your first time client
