My experience was great. Ann, the owner was very nice & welcoming. My stylist, I don't want to butcher her name, was very sweet & she took her time, ...but was also quick at the same time. She did an awesome job on my knotless braids. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hair. I'll definitely be back. Show more

I needed my hair done last minute and was unable to book at my favorite salon so I looked on Booksy and found Hair du Jour. I read a couple reviews an...d decided it sounded like an okay place for a last minute appointment. Upon arrival, (I was the first client, I arrived at 10am sharp) the owner was there to greet me, take my coat and ask how I wanted my hair. I told her i pre-washed my hair since that’s what I usually do before getting a sew-in because it ***saves time*** and she insisted on washing it anyway AND giving me a deep condition which i didn’t really have time for, but sat through anyway. Another client walks in and she also deep conditions her. While we’re both under the dryer the owner LEAVES THE SHOP to go hang out with her man who brought her dunkin’ donuts for a half hour. Once she comes back, there’s a 3rd client thrown into the mix. Mind you, there’s still only one employee running the entire place because the other girl never showed up (not the owners fault but my problem is mainly the way she handled my hair). I sit in the chair to get my hair blowdried and this woman is straight up RIPPING my hair out with the comb and as I flinch, she has the nerve to ask me if i’m tender-headed.. pretty sure anyone would be flinching if their type 4 hair was getting ripped out. Not to mention the way she sectioned off my hair.. EVERYONE in hair care should know at this point in 2022 that rubber bands are NOT healthy to use on any kind of hair texture. I had to offer up the black hair ties on my wrist because apparently she didn’t have any appropriate clips…? The braiding and sewing process was also super painful. Ann is extremely heavy-handed and does not care about the health of hair whatsoever. She rushed through every client in there, including me.. (they all left before me and I was there first). While doing my hair, she was having a facetime conference with the city about why her business isn’t doing well and I can see EXACTLY why that’s the case. I didn’t even like how my hair turned out in the end. I had to go home and try to fix it myself even though I wanted to take it all out. I didn’t end up leaving until 3:30pm. So mad I wasted my time and money here. I will NEVER return. Only giving 1 star because I have to in order to submit the review. Show more

Hair Du Jour, continues to provide quality haircare services to a loyal clientele for over 30 years, and keeps striving to create a warm and friendly business atmosphere for every customer that comes through our door.
