The stylist got upset with me for "micromanaging" them by "looking at what they're doing the whole time" (not sure where else I was supposed to be loo...king while someone is cutting my hair) and "putting time pressure on them", which is even more confusing since all i did was ask how long the appointment was going to be (and even went out of my way to clarify that i in no way am rushing them and am simply asking to plan my day better). The stylist said that I was making them uncomfortable and since they were in a bad mental state overall (they frankly gave too many personal mental health details for a professional environment), they did not want to continue working on my hair and said they were going to do "the bare minimum" job so I could leave faster. I was at a loss about what to do so I cut my appointment short, paid and left as quickly as i could as by then i did not feel comfortable with them handling sharp objects near me when they were clearly in distress. I truly cannot think of anything i have said/done to cause them such distress as for the most part i just sat there quietly letting them do their work(i spoke up about my haircut exactly once and made a tiny bit of polite small talk), it just felt like i was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I ended up with a haircut i do not like, but the experience was actually much worse, truly jarring.... I felt unwelcomed and honestly just unsafe at my appointment and will probably just stick to cutting my own hair now. Show more

It was my first time seeing Vada. They listened to me and were kind. Vada did a beautiful job cutting my very long hair shorter. They also styled i...t nicely and naturally, which I had wanted. The salon has nice products that don’t smell too much. It’s clear Vada is both good at what they do and love it. I hope to return for a trim and refresh. Show more
