🎚️ Mixing
Mixing happens after all the individual parts (vocals, drums, guitars, synths, etc.) have been recorded. The goal is to balance and shape how these elements work together.
Key steps usually include:
Level balancing: Making sure no instrument overpowers another.
Panning: Placing sounds in the stereo field (left, right, or center) for width and depth.
EQ (Equalization): Shaping the tone of each sound so frequencies don’t clash.
Compression: Controlling dynamic range so quiet parts aren’t too quiet and loud parts aren’t too loud.
Reverb & delay: Adding space and ambiance.
