Relaxing the oral muscle may help reduce the strong pull that can contribute to the line creases of the upper lip. Maintaining results will require repeated treatment  as this wears off in time. Skin quality may affect the overall result and may require to consider additional treatments to enhance outcome.

Reducing the strength of the Masseter muscles can achieve a sliming effect when these muscles contribute to “bulking”.

The “gummy smile” occurs when there is excessive showing of the gingiva or gum when smiling. An effective treatment (if suitable) used to relax the muscles that “pull” the lip in an upward motion upon smiling and by doing so can lengthen the appearance in the area from nose to mouth which covert more of the exposed gum.
