I don’t often leave negative reviews because I believe in supporting small businesses, but I feel it’s important to share my experience to hopefully s...ave someone else the disappointment—especially before a big event. I’m a student and booked this spray tan as a treat ahead of my formal. I carefully followed all the preparation and aftercare instructions. Sadly, the results were really disappointing. My legs were streaky, and there were patchy areas on my chest and underarms, leaving an uneven finish—which was especially noticeable as I was wearing a bandeau dress with a long slit. After consulting with other spray tan professionals, it became clear the product had not been properly mixed and the tan had not been dried correctly. This was confirmed by a very experienced spray tanner who examined the results but was unable correct the patchiness or unevenness. The photos I’m sharing were taken within 24–48 hours of the tan, and by day four, the tan was so badly uneven that I’ve had to spend more money on remover to try to fix it. It was genuinely that bad. I also had to buy instant tan in an attempt to even things out, which has brought my total spend to around £55. When I reached out politely to explain what had happened and offered to send photos, I was met with a vague suggestion to use instant tan instead of any real support or apology. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable, just a bit of help to fix the situation, but unfortunately, I was brushed off. This experience really took away from my day. I was so upset and self-conscious that I was crying and almost didn’t want to go to my formal. It was heartbreaking, especially because my boyfriend had gone out of his way to surprise me with flowers that matched my dress—it was meant to be a really special moment, and instead, I felt so disappointed. I’m honestly so angry and let down by the whole situation. What should have been a treat and confidence boost ended up causing stress and upset on an important day. I really encourage anyone considering this service for a big occasion to think carefully—it’s just not worth the risk. Edit: Róisín, I’ve seen your public response and want to clarify a few things. Yes, I did initially message you with the benefit of the doubt — because I genuinely believed you’d help me resolve it and I didn’t want to place blame unnecessarily. But as the days went on, the tan worsened, I received professional feedback about issues with how it was applied, and I ended up in tears trying to salvage my appearance for what should have been a special event. I reached out calmly and respectfully, and when I heard nothing back, I felt completely dismissed. That’s what changed the tone — not just the tan itself, but the lack of support when I was clearly struggling. Quoting my original messages out of context feels like an attempt to undermine my experience rather than take accountability. I stand by my review — which, for the record, is based on the full picture, not just how I felt in the moment before I realised the extent of the issue. I didn’t want to leave a negative review. But I was let down, I was left to pick up the pieces, and I was honest about it — as is my right. Show more

Hi Katie, I’m sorry you had this experience. I can assure you that this does not reflect my skills, nor the product used. I take pride in providing my customers with high quality products and services. Although, that being said not every product suits every skin type, which could be the case here. I have preformed hundreds of spray tans and have never been met with this situation. I followed the same process in application and drying procedure as usual- unfortunately when the client leaves the salon the tan is out of my control. I replied to your text messages in an appropriate and prompt manner, as you received a response within 2 minutes. The text which says, ‘Please don’t apologise at all, I honestly don’t think it’s your fault! You were so lovely and professional and I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly’ and another text ‘Also just to say — I’m 100% a panicker about these things and definitely prone to overthinking and fussing 🤣 so please don’t stress at all on your end! I really appreciate your help xx’ would suggest that you thought otherwise. While I appreciate customers leaving their honest opinion on my service, I don’t believe this is a true reflection on the high quality standards that I hold my services to. Sorry you had this experience and I will continue to take every opportunity to improve my services.
