This is my first time coming to BraidsByAfrica by Maria and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I had cut my locs last October and was read...y for something new and I received exactly what I wanted. She was very kind, funny, and thoughtful from beginning to end. I was debating between island twist and boho braids but as you can see I decided on the boho braids in color #30. The atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy. I wish she wasn’t leaving so that I could book with her again! The best experience! Especially not having braids for over 15 years. Book an appointment y’all! Show more

Absolutely would never come back… between the condescending nasty attitude, the crooked middle part, the braiding too damn tight even after i asked he...r to light up a little and the changing my appt time and day multiple times (which i was very accommodating towards) it’s quite frankly the most unprofessional hair appt I’ve ever had. And tbh the work is messy for someone that “has so many clients on their page and there’s a reason ppl always come back” her words towards me asking a question about the style. Talking about trust the process yet the process was lackluster chaotic and bad energy and she still couldn’t deliver what i wanted. Show more

If you were unhappy with your hair, you could have said something before leaving, & I would have been more than willing to fix or remove it. condescending & nasty attitude, yet you approached me with a rude demeanor from the start. I'm 5’1", & you're taller than me.You complained about a crooked middle part like I didn’t repeatedly ask you to adjust your head, you didn’t . Who puts on a neck pillow on the back rows? I asked you several times to move it,you only slightly shifted it. I asked you to tilt your head , you barely did, even though I was standing on a stool to reach your hair.I mentioned my wrist injury & suggested rescheduling or canceling you didn’t care. Instead,you pushed for the earliest time I could do your hair & insisted it had to be done by a certain date.Based on your responses, I should’ve canceled your appointment because I could sense negative energy before you sat in my chair.Everything you're trying to project onto me is really about yourself. Don’t come in with a bad attitude & expect people to cater to you. Braiders are human too, & despite my injury, you pressured me into keeping the appointment.Say what you will, but you get back what you put out. & honestly? You’re the worst client I’ve ever dealt with. ask yourself if you were a good client. Did you bring positive energy? No, you came in entitled, and that’s not how it works especially when working with an injury just to accommodate you. Good luck to whoever has to deal with you next
