I’ve been coming to this barber shop for the past 4 years ever since I was 10, and I always see everyone happy and having a good time and enjoying the...ir cuts. I would absolutely recommend coming to this barber shop. I always get my cuts from Stephon he is an amazing barber and he is the best barber I’ve ever had. He always gets me right and he’s a very nice and respectful person, and for someone young as myself he gives the best advice for me when it comes to life. Show more

After a botched color job (I did the botching), I still had some residual color left and wanted the rest lopped off. My budget right now is really tig...ht and considering how short my hair already was, I looked for a local barber school. For the low, low, practically free price of $5, The Barber Academy is just a short walk away in San Jose. I loved everything about the experience from beginning to end. They take walk-ins Tuesday-Friday from 10a-2p. The gentleman who tended to my hair is Stefan Falcon, kind, a superior listener, with flair. I don't know an "8" cut from a "2" cut and he patiently explained all this, grabbing tools from a garage-like storage unit in black, complete with my favorite part of the process: an air hose! They use this to blow every last tiny hair off your head and even your shoes! I also met the owner sitting in the back who was also friendly and Stefan said how well liked he is, which is a nice thing to hear about the boss. Women! Don't be afraid, if you have a shorter do, this could be just the ticket without all the fluff and ritual of a salon (which I no longer have any patience to endure). Get there soon for Stefan, as he is completing his last 100 hours of training right now! There were many other capable people available, too. Tip big, they deserve it! Show more

The Barber Academy has a welcoming environment with great students eager to perfect their craft. Stefan, is the student, who has been cutting me since... June 2023 and he is always keeping his booth and tools clean. He understands what you want and is very detail oriented. I definitely recommend checking out the shop for your next cut. Show more

Can't be grateful enough for the cleanliness and convenience of this place. Given the haircuts are $5, you are taking a leap of faith at times if you ...try to walk-in so best to set up an appointment. If you don't already have a barber in mind, Stefan Falcon is absolutely amazing. He is timely, sticks to his schedule, always sees you right at your allotted appointment time, and his set up and barber tools are always cleaned and disinfected. I go to him personally every two weeks or so. His line work is immaculate, fade skills on point, and he is a master with the straight razor for eyebrows and beards as well! I've been here a few times now and would definitely recommend it! I always book with Stefan and I can always rely on him to get me right. I really ap...preciate how he takes the time to understand what I'm looking for, especially since I've grown out my hair and tried some new looks over the past several months. He listens to me and we're able to work together to find a haircut that will look good for me. I honestly can't ask for more from a barber. I feel confident that I got a great cut every time that I walk out of the shop. It's also a welcoming environment with little to no wait time. I found out about The Barber Academy via research I was doing after moving on from yet another barber in the SJ area. I got paired with Stefan ‘Stef’ ...Falcon and the rest has been history. Finally, someone that actually (and carefully) listens to what kind of cut I’m looking for. I’m not someone that typically leaves reviews but given the ease of access (you book and pay via Square), engaging conversation (Stef and I chop it up both in the shop and on Instagram), and unprompted positive feedback (both on fixing my hair and new touches that Stef incorporated) I’ve been receiving from friends/family, I feel compelled to do so. Also, you know the attention to detail is real - they give you a full hour and nothing has felt/looked off in my experience. Stef is my guy! Show more

First time I went was on a saturday to a walk in. I was surprised on how skilled all the barbers were and how busy the place was. I had @abarbernameds...tef (his instagram handle) cut my hair. It was an amazing experience and he charges only 20 for a cut.I would highly reccomend going and if you are don’t forget to check his page out.I promise you won’t regret it! Show more
