Just passin through town doing some work for a couple weeks, of course had to get fresh for the strip over the weekend... unfortunately had to book a...n appt at Crown of Fades the day after a nearly disastrous experience w a different local barber whose confidence mysteriously evaporated when it came time to line me up (fade was super clean tho?---my guy just folded) Anyways, whenever I'm walking into a new shop, Ive learned that its best to just sit, ignore the "I got you next" dudes, and watch for at least 20 mins before asking a barber if they can fit you in...but it seems like all of the Las Vegas area is committed to appointment only through Booksy. So there I was rolling the dice again, reading reviews and looking at prices.... long story short I landed on Crown of Fades as a well reviewed shop, and saw that "Chino" was offering $15 lineups, which is unheard of in this economy! My dawg Chino rescued me from a long weekend wearing a beanie in desert heat, at 5pm on a Friday yall! Also, turns out that he's not just a highly skilled and super chill fade master, but also the very humble owner of the shop. The venue itself is on the higher end of barber shops, with a generous floorplan, plentiful seating for your wait, lots of screens, and some jamz on the overhead speaker (not too loud though, its a business, not a traphouse 😅). Shout out to Paul, the 1st chair barber on the other side, he exhibited excellent customer service and skill to his own clients, and made me laugh while I waited nervously.
