I really needed a haircut so I decided to try a different barber and Maliek came highly recommended. This was my first time ever booking with him. ...I would say that my experience wasn’t what I really expected. I always love to support black business, and was anticipating the best haircut of my life. Given that I don’t have much hair, he did direct me to some products that I will give a try but outside of that, I didn’t find him to be highly personable or timely. I waited 35 minutes past my appointment time, and no apology was offered. He offered me an explanation that amounted to ‘that’s what to expect.’ He didn’t really make me feel comfortable. I felt like I was impeding on his time. He also seemed very motivated by money, and his mood seemed to correlate to that. Having to share an appt slot with someone else also did not rub me the right way. I don’t want to be worked on along with someone else. Appt slots are for one person, not two. My haircut reflects the rushing to catch up with your clientele and that sucks. He’s a young guy, I get it…but I would advise to be more interested in your clients and focused on them rather than the bag. Money comes regardless, so why not be kinder and more approachable? For $65 I expected a lot more than what was given. I expect timeliness, personality, personalized service, and humility. I imagine that he relies on a combination of looks (very handsome young man) and skill…but keeping clients relies on great customer service. You left chalk lines on my head and everything I’m glad I tried someone new out, but my search for a new barber continues…just not an experience I would want to repeat. Show more

I’m always nervous or hesitant when trying something new, but Wyatt communicated very well and ma...de certain that I was satisfied with my braids before leaving. I work typically don’t get off work until late and the fact that he has appointments to accommodate those of us that do work late is dope. He has most definitely earned me as a repeat client.
