Addy, the owner, is the stylist that did my hair. I got big feed-in cornrows done, and they turned out beautifully!!! Addy suggested a color combo of ...hair that I’d never tried before when I was having difficulty deciding, and that color (and hairstyle) have been Such a hit!! I’ve gotten So many compliments on my hair, and men are definitely taking notice of how flattering this style is on me. The salon also does makeup and weaves, from my understanding. Beyond that, Addy herself has a very pleasant, sweet, and calm demeanor. She was super patient when I couldn’t make it in time for my original appointment, and very willingly accommodated my delayed arrival time. The salon itself is small, but cute, clean, nicely decorated, and smooth mellow African tunes play in the background. Parking is plentiful, and Addy and her husband own a beauty supply store, as well, which is adjoined to the salon — very convenient for us customers and savvy business on their part. A few helpful things to know in advance are: - For just $10, they’ll wash and blow dry your hair for you prior to getting your style done. - To book your appointment, anticipate a $20 Cash App deposit, which will be applied towards the cost of your style. - Day-of payment should be made in cash, via Zelle, or by card with a 3% surcharge. - Waiting area seating is very limited, so you won’t want to bring additional people with you to your appointment. I Really appreciates your business ma'am.
I have the sides and back of my head shaved so the only part I needed braids in was the top. I also brought my own hair, and upon learning all of this..., the shop owner told me the price would be $180 (not including a $20 fee to reserve my appointment.) Once I arrived and she had already started putting some of the hair in, she informed me that because the hair was waist-length she would be raising the price by $40. So the new total was $220, and with the appointment fee that was a total of $240 I paid when — again — I only have like 25% of hair she had to braid. This is obviously ridiculous. To her credit the braids seemed to have come out good; I’ve only had them for less than a week so I’ll see how they hold up as time goes on. Regardless I will not be coming back and if you can look for someone else with reasonable prices, I would advise that any day. EDIT: I’ve seen someone else who had the same issue with being overpriced leave a 1-star review, and this business commented on that review telling the person they never went to her and she’s “attacking their business.” This should go to show you what kind of business this is. In relation to the owner’s comment on THIS review, clearly nothing I said was untrue as she has admitted to everything I’ve said herself. She overcharges knowing she doesn’t have to do nearly as much as with the average person’s hair and expects no complaints. I realized how messed up what she did was after doing my research LATER than I should have — a cheaper rate can still be found elsewhere for quality work. Show more

UPON ARIVAL YOU BROUGHT INN WAIST LENGHT HAIR, FOR THE STYLE I CHARGED $180 FOR MIDBACK LENGHT, WAIST LENGHT $220. AND I TOLD YOU IS GOING TO BE $220 FOR WAIST LENGTH AND YOU AGREED TO THE PRICE. SERVICES WAS RENDERED, AND YOU MADE PAYMENT INCLUDING GIVING US $30 TIPS SHOWING YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH EVERYTHING. YOU DID NOT SHOW OR TELL ME ANYTHING OTHERWISE. YOUR ORIGINAL REVIEWS WAS 5 STARS WITH LOTS OF RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT MY BUISNESS YOU EVEN TAG ME SOME SELFIE PICTURE OF THE STYLE. FEW HOURS AFTER YOU CHANGED IT TO 1 STAR, YOU DIDNT CALL ME OR TEXT ME ABOUT BEEN DISATIFYING WITH ANYTHING. IT'S ALL GOOD. AS PER THE PERSON YOU'ER REFERRING TO. YES, I DON'T KNOW THE PERSON.
