I went here for a simple 4 braid cornrow style a few years ago and was so traumatized. My hair looked like a 5 year old did it at the back. I thought ...it felt off because I’ve been getting braided styles for years but I’m very particular and cautious about my natural hair. When my friend saw it I realized how bad it was! I was going on vacation so my flight was the next morning. I called from my hotel when I landed and she said she would give me a discount next time. That didn’t help me but I said ok. When I got back I called and asked about the discount for the past experience she said sure $20 off. Needless to say I never went back and my hair is much happier and nicer for it. Show more
My 11 year old is very happy with her knotless braids. She got medium sized braids in just under 3 hours. Awa was very receptive to my request to be g...entle around the edges and for the first time there were no complaints about a headache. Additionally, she was so kind and had such a sweet spirit that my daughter felt comfortable and told me she wanted to come back again. Show more

I visited Signara to get my hair braided for the first time. I explained what I wanted, and she did the style exactly as I desired— the size, length, ...and color of the braids were spot on. However, the next morning, I noticed flakes on my braids, and some parts seemed to be coming off. When I reached out to Singara, she explained that it was because she hadn't trimmed the braids properly. I returned a few days later for the trim. The following week, my braids got messy after being exposed to rain. (Which later I figured that should not happen specially only one week after new braids). Despite reaching out to Singara to fix them and being willing to pay for it, she didn't respond with a time for an appointment. Frustrated, I visited two other shops and was informed that my braids were poorly done and overcharged. When I asked Signara for a refund, she refused but offered to fix the braids. However, she never answered my calls to schedule an appointment. Ultimately, I had to go to another salon to have my braids redone. Although they couldn't replicate the exact style, my braids are now neat and clean. Unfortunately, during the removal process, it became evident that I had lost a lot of hair due to the poor braiding technique used by Singara. The bad experience with two braiders left me wondering whether they treated me this way because it was my first time and they thought I wouldn’t know the quality of the work or is it because I am not in the community! I found Awa based on google reviews and you can see the difference between my braids and other people’s!! Show more
Awa is the literal best. My daughter always asked if only Awa could do my hair. She's gentle and makes sure the style is too your liking. Update: Aw...a did it again, my daughter wanted boho braids for her birthday and she left feeling amazing and beautiful. Awesome work, Awa. Thank you Show more

She works to fit you in at convenient times eve...n if that means starting very early in the morning and she is FAST! No matter the style or size braids, I’m usually done in record time. The dresser was extremely rough with my 4c hair (if you value the health of your natural hair don't come here).Their braids were way too tight; caused... excessive bumps and redness on my scalp. Had to take them out. Ridiculous for the price. Update: after taking down the braids I saw red bumps across my scalp and excess breakage around my hair line. I had thick, long and healthy 4c before coming here. Definitely won't be returning. Show more

The lady who did your hair did a professional job ,she even ask if you like it and you said yes that s not fair she did your hair and you left without paying her and saying that s not enough braids and you run without paying her that's not fair foe someone who spend 4 hours in yo hair
I had a very good experience with the owner of Signara Hair. Ms. Faye made me feel very comfortable, and was very attentive when listening to my conce...rns about my hair. I came into the salon with overdue braids, and came out with fresh ones! They will be able to last a long time which I’m very thankful for. Ms. Faye did a wonderful job, and was very accommodating.
