THIS BUSINESS IS RACIST. In 23 years of living I have never experienced any form of racism… until I walked into “5 star nails” in 2021. I arrived to t...he nail salon at 10:50 for my 11 o’clock appointment on Sunday November 7 2021 with my grandma to get our nails done. Our appointment was for two gel pedicures, and two gel refills. The salon was pretty empty and got busier as the day went on. The problems didn’t start until after we finished our pedicures and the lady that did my pedicure told me and my grandmother that we had to wait an hour to get out manicures done. Now, had I been a walk in, I would have understood the wait. However, we had an appointment and shouldn’t have had to wait between services. I told them again that we had an appointment and they said they would take my grandma (who I’m very light) and said it was still going to be an hour for me (I’m more brown skin). The same man that did my grandmas pedicure began doing her manicure and the lady that did mine was now sitting next to me in the pedicure chair. Now at this point in time it had nothing to do with skin color in my eyes I was just annoyed that we had appointments and still had to wait. So I asked the lady that did my pedicure to speak to the manager and she told me the manager had off today and I processed to asked for her number so I can contact her because like I said I had an appointment and thought it wasn’t fair that I had to wait. After asking for the managers number the same lady that had done my pedicure told me should didn’t know it and I asked her if she could find someone that had it. She shook her head no and walked away. About 5 minutes later two white woman walked in for one manicure and one pedicure. One of the workers told both of them to sit in their respective chairs. I sat in the chair that the worker instructed the lady to sit in because I was number one, there first and number two had an appointment! The lady sat in a different seat and the same lady that did my pedicure walked over to where the white woman had sat and began doing her nails… I immediately said “ you told me I had to wait a whole hour in order for me to get my nails done and I had an appointment but as soon as they came in you took them immediately. You’re racist!” She didn’t even look up at me and continued taking off her gel polish. I ended up leaving without getting my manicure done because I was literally in tears over what I had just experienced. They will never get my business again. I hope and pray that anyone that reads this cancels their business to stand up against racism with me. Show more
Great place. Great service. Very friendly staff. Owner Kathy does Great work. She knows her stuff
