FIRST TIME CLIENTS ONLY

Walked in for my 9:30 appt. Already had a client in the chair and I had to wait over 30min for my turn. No apologies whatsoever (yet there’s a charge ...if a client is over 10 min late) After asking how I’d like my haircut, I explain and even show her 2 photos from her portfolio. 1 photo to show her how I style my hair (which is a simple brushed down forward look, just don’t push back my bangs too far) and 1 photo of how the fade should look (somewhat mid to high fade) Once she starts cutting I realize I didn’t mention (nor did she ask) about my beard cut. She says the New Customer promo doesn’t include facial hair but only haircut “as stated in the promo” I right away pull out my phone and show her what it says, word-for-word, which DOES NOT state that. Again, no apologies. And sure, I should have called ahead and clarified but the math made sense. Cut+Beard normal price is $60 and the New Customer promo is $30. So… 50% off new customers sounds like a promo. Hence why I didn’t think to ask. Yet, she knew I was new and could’ve elaborated upon the welcome introduction. Not that there was much of one anyway. Once she starts spraying water on my hair, I’m getting annoyed. I told her from the start “high clip around an 8 or 7 to keep my length” Never did I say scissor cut. I let her carry on. Right before she starts on the beard I say “let me see the top” She swivels the chair (finally for the first time) and I’m peeved. I let her think she was done so she can continue on. But if you have a new client, why not periodically ask “hey how’s the length? anything to change before we get on with the beard?, etc?) Once done with everything, she puts a mirror in front of me and I tell her to blow dry my hair dry and forward so I can properly see (the mess) of my hair. She blowdrys my hair back and I have to tell her “please blow-dry it down and forward”. Hair ends up with crazy flipped up bangs which now makes it unrealistic to line it up. She tells me “that’s because your hair was wet”. Seriously?? No, had she dried it down and forward, it wouldn’t have happened. Literally Styling 101. I then have to show her where her cutting guide should be and proceed. Making sure not to go too short or there’s no going back. She somewhat finishes that and I tell her the line up is crooked and uneven. literally the left side and right side are at a slant. She does nothing really and says “better?” No, not better but just leave it please. Conclusion: Unwelcoming. Uneven line-up. Not engaging. Not happy. Won’t be returning. Show more
