The overall hairstyle came out great, and I’m happy with how it looks. Unfortunately, the appointment experience is where I had to take off a few star...s. I typically book my appointments one to two months in advance, so it was frustrating to be notified the day before that my appointment needed to be pushed back an hour due to scheduling conflicts. Then, 10 minutes before the rescheduled appointment, I was contacted again and told the time needed to change once more. My original appointment was at 1:30 p.m., I arrived at the salon around 3:45 p.m., and my service didn’t actually begin until about 4:30 p.m. I did ask if there could be an adjustment to the price because of the delays, and while I appreciated the $10 discount that was offered, it didn’t really reflect the amount of time I lost waiting. Before we started, I specifically requested that the braids not be as tight as they had been during previous appointments. Throughout the service, I had to repeatedly ask for a lighter grip because the braiding was painful. Despite mentioning it several times, the braids remained too tight. Unfortunately, I now have painful hair bumps, and some of my natural hair was accidentally cut while the style was being finished. The finished style is beautiful, but the overall experience made it difficult to fully enjoy it. Between the scheduling delays, the discomfort during the appointment, and my hair being cut, I left disappointed. I truly hope these concerns are taken into consideration because I would love for future clients to have a better experience.
