So the braids came out nicely, but the experience was not enjoyable. Once I arrived, Tania asked if I was getting medium knotless so I showed her my a...ppt on Booksy. It said “small knotless” for $200. She said ok & began to braid in the back of my hair while another woman, Laura started in the front. After a few braids, Tania stopped & left w/ her daughter. She was gone for so long that Laura was almost done in the front by the time Tania returned. I later heard her telling someone that she took her daughter to a splash park during my appt. I had to give myself a middle part twice while Tania was gone & once when she came back b/c neither her nor Laura were able to put a straight part in the middle of my hair. They kept saying that it’s difficult to do. I literally had to part my own hair 3 times b/c they kept moving my part after I did it, claiming that it was incorrect. The middle part I have in my hair right now was done by me after they finally decided to stop fighting me on it. It was extremely frustrating b/c I shouldn’t have to fight for something I’m paying for. So after that, Tania picked up where she left off w/ braiding the back of my hair. She braided them all halfway & then LEFT AGAIN for the rest of the appt. Laura told me that she owned her own shop in the salon plaza which really took me by surprise b/c I thought she was an employee of the salon I booked with. So Laura finished braiding my hair, dipped the braids in hot water several times, pumped foam onto the top of my braids & then paused to ask if I paid. I told her that I used Booksy to get this appt & I had to add a card when I booked. The appt was supposed to end at 4pm & it was about 20 min past that time so yes, I paid. Tania had not returned to the salon so I told Laura to call her & confirm. While she called Tania, I had to smooth the foam over my own braids b/c Laura just left the foam sitting there. Even when she noticed me attempting to do it myself, she didn’t assist. Once Tania answered the phone, she asked me how much I paid & I said $200. They both said, “oh no, it’s way more than that.” At this point, I was upset b/c she set her own prices on the app & I showed her the size and price that I booked before anyone even touched my hair. It’s extremely unprofessional & deceptive to wait until the style is completely finished to attempt to charge me more. Tania told me that the style costs $240 b/c I got small. In my opinion, & I have asked others who agree with me, the braids I got are moreso medium than small, but I didn’t even complain. So to try to be sneaky & charge me more when you intentionally did less work is crazy. Tania told me that $200 is for jumbo knotless which doesn’t make sense b/c you can see the screenshots I attached of the prices she listed. She said she would charge me $220 & I said that’s fine b/c I brought $20 to tip anyway. I gave the $20 to Laura, said thank you & walked out. As I get to the front door of the salon plaza, Laura comes running out after me, telling me that I didn’t pay. It was extremely embarrassing & confusing b/c we literally just settled everything. I asked her what she’s talking about & she said Tania didn’t link her card on Booksy so she can’t get paid that way. Now I’m really irritated b/c you shouldn’t allow people to book on an app you can’t get paid on & then make it your customer’s problem. Tania finally returned to the salon after all of this & said that I can pay with a square reader. She also informed me that she was in a rush & has somewhere to be at 5pm. I guess coming back to the salon she owns to charge me was an inconvenience to her, even though she shouldn’t have left & her card info should’ve been linked to Booksy in the first place. I gave her my card to charge me & then I left. The entire experience was appalling & unprofessional. My appt was scheduled for 12-4pm. I arrived at 12:10 after informing her I was running a little late & I didn’t leave until 4:45 because of the nonsense. Show more

Sorry for all of the inconvenience you felt. On the app it says 180.00 + which means it starts at that price but can certainly go up. Sizes vary from stylist to stylist on what is small medium and large. I had forgotten I had appointments on that day and my colleague agreed to continue on with your hair. At times we work together and didn't think it would be a problem if I needed help. Again I apologize for any inconvenience that I caused you on that day.

The way they run their business is nasty work. Boho box braids shouldn’t be service they offer. All I wanted to do was cry and take down the 320 dolla...r hair style with 200 dollars worth of hair. (At least a bag was on the floor). The amount of glue that is in this hair is horrid. I didn’t see until I was home in the mirror under decent light. And to top it off the boho pieces have been falling out because they were not braided into the plaits. The braids in the back are little slivers of hair not real braids covered by the one on the top which are the glue covered braids. I can’t even hide it to get two weeks out of the hairstyle. Buyer beware. I updated with the response provided by the owner. She doesn’t care that they did a horrible job or to make the situation right only talk crazy and keep people coming for them to take advantage. I didn’t wash anything and the hair was cleaned prior to service (by myself) and the style hadn’t been slapped in there longer than the hour ride home before things started falling out. Spend your money else where. Show more

My Side of the Story I normally don’t respond to client reviews, but I feel the need to share my side of what happened in this case. My goal has always been to make sure every client leaves my chair happy. If something isn’t right, I always ask my clients to come back so we can fix it—and if that’s not possible, I offer a full refund. That’s who I am, and many of my clients can vouch for that. This particular client called me to book a style that required braiding human hair. I advised her to buy the right type of hair, but a few minutes later, she told me it was out of her budget and bought a track weave instead—which isn’t suitable for the style she wanted. Still, my coworker and I did our best with what she brought, and we made it work. She seemed happy when she left—so happy that she even gave us a $30 tip on top of the $320 service fee. So yes, I was very surprised to see a nasty review posted the next day. I called her right away to understand what went wrong and see how we could fix it, but she didn’t answer. I left a voicemail and later received a message asking for a refund. I explained our policy: you return, we either fix it or take it out, and then I refund you. She refused to come back. I even asked her kindly—if she really wanted a refund without returning—to at least take down the review, and I’d still refund her,including the tip. She said no. It became clear she just wanted her money back and to leave the bad review anyway. I have the full conversation
