This was my daughter’s first time coming to Given’s braiding studio. Melanie greeted my daughter and I and was very friendly and professional. The atm...osphere was very inviting and the other staff (braiders) were friendly as well. My daughter got large knotless braids and they are so neat. Shout out to the young lady that braided my daughters hair along with Melanie they did such an awesome job. We were in and out in a timely matter. We will definitely be coming back. If you are looking for a professional braided I definitely would recommend Given’s Braiding Studio in Charlotte I promise you won’t be disappointed.. Show more

Extremely unprofessional. I booked my appointment with Mel at 12pm. I arrived at 11:50 stating my appointment with Mel. I was sat down and someone els...e was about to start on my hair. I asked where Mel was. Was told she was held up at the DMV and will be on her way. Two hours later, I was told she was 25 mins away. I told the people in the shop I’m about to leave. They replied there were other women who could’ve braided my hair but I wanted Mel. Absolutely right. If I book a particular person, I should not have to settle for someone else. I really needed my hair braided but I wasn’t willing to wait another hour and still be required to pay full price for late service. I’m disappointed for the lack of care and professionalism. Unfortunately, on the day of your appointment, Mel had an unexpected situation that was beyond her control, which she had to deal with. However, we immediately offered two highly capable braiders who were available and ready to complete your service at the scheduled time. You chose to decline our offer and wait specifically for Mel, even though we informed you of her delay. While we respect your preference, the decision not to proceed with one of the other braiders was yours. It’s important to note that we did our best to offer a timely solution, and it’s disappointing to see a 1-star review when alternative options were provided to you. Our braiders acted professionally (contrary to you saying we are unprofessional) by making sure you didn’t have to wait without any options, and it's unfortunate that you chose not to take advantage of the solutions we gave you.
