My son absolutely loved his hair and his experience. He now only wants to go here and let Marsaedees do his hair. He said she asked if he was tender h...eaded and washed his hair so great. Unfortunately my experience was not good. I will say they got me in and out and my scalp didnt hurt, but that is where the good ends and actually I no...w see why they finished so fast. My braids came out so skinny that I can't even wear them down because they just stick out and bend because they get so skinny half way through the braid and this is after paying $25 extra dollars for them to come to my lower back... the braids are inconsistent in length as well... there is one braid that is so short it sticks out in a ponytail... I can't do anything with this style and after paying $225 I just want to take it out... not worth the money at all... I asked them if they could fix it and if they would look at it in person so they could really see the problem but they said all they could offer as a solution was to curl it but that's gonna make them look even shorter and doesn't really fix the problem. I'm so disappointed because my homegirl's husband was boho braids looked good but they also didn't charge her for extra length ..maybe I should've just gotten those 😩😩 I'm so sad... I really wanted to like my hair but this aint it... I will go back to my last braider next time Show more

Appointment started an hour behind appointment time. Alot of complaints from others while there in reference to big parts. My daughter hair is fine ju...st not sure it was worth $285. Her parts are uneven in middle of her head and front slightly larger than I expected for this price also the hair is not human like advertised. Show more

I drove 2hrs to get my twist done!! Made appointment for 1pm and still had to wait. Normally my twist take 5hrs but here they took 7hrs. Let’s just sa...y they specialize in Knotless. My braider was slow everyone had 2 people working on their heads my braider even asked for help and no one bothered to assist. Maybe it would’ve took less time if she wasn’t on the phone or stopping to eat. 3 stars cause I do like my hair. Service wise I’ll stick with my usual braider. Show more

Me and my daughter have gone to this place a multitude of times and her hair is always amazing and it was no different this time but the customer serv...ice was terrible. My daughter appointment was at 10 a.m. My daughter was not done until 6:30 at night. They are usually fast braiders and that is why I continuously book here so I ask my daughter why it is taking her so long and her response truly upset me. She says: From 11-1 nobody was working on my hair. So, I call up there and I get an answer and whoever I was on the phone with says, I will call someone at the salon now and try to see what’s going on and I will call you back. I get no call back. I myself had to call her back, two times!!! and ask if there is a way I could possibly get money back from this inconvenience (My daughter should not have been there for 8 hours. They should have, at most, had her at the salon for 6 hours.) and she starts saying excuses that do not makeup for my daughter sitting in that salon for two hours with nobody attending to her hair. It's really a 4.5. Very nice ladies. It takes the normal 5 -6 hours for an updo cornrow ponytail. if you need to go somewhere, just let them know and ...they will have 2 braiders to finish in time. Also, if you want them to use your personal gel just ask and they did. Show more

Negative stars!!!! This was trash and the classic bait and switch. I booked with Tanya, but got Mayda. They switched the stylist at the last minute, t...he shop was closed, the stylist showed up late, and then I was overcharged. The stylist rushed through the shampoo and does not know how to blowout hair. My braids are not the style I requested , they are uneven, and still matted . Givens Hair Studio seriously lacks professionalism and I will never go back. Show more

My experience at Givens Hair Studio was great. The salon was overall clean, decorated nice, everyone was working to service those in their chair with ...efficiency. The stylist were all nice, the conversations were engaging. Mel was very patient with me when I felt I was doing to much saying "You are fine, you have the right to get the service you want"❤️, no attitude given. The price was what I agreed to pay, no "surprise charges" at the end, which was great. The most important part about my experience was SHE WAS NOT HEAVY HANDED NOOOOO TIGHTNESS AT ALL!! There was pressure but I was able to sleep peacefully and my edges DID NOT pull🙂 I will be returning for my next style. Show more
