Horrible experience! As soon as I arrived at her cubicle, I greeted her and let her know I was there for my appointment. Right away, I noticed the ene...rgy was off. After about 20 minutes, she asked me to come in, put away my jacket, and gave me a smock to wear. She then asked if I had detangled my hair. I told her that I had read all her rules and had detangled my hair the night before, as well as right before leaving for my appointment. However, since I have thick 4C hair, it tangles easily. After waiting another 30 minutes, she asked me to go to the shampoo bowl—only to leave me waiting another 10 minutes. Finally, she came over and condescendingly told me that my hair was tangled. For the second time, she asked if I had detangled my hair from root to tip. She then made a comment about my roots. At that point, I explained to her again that I had combed out my hair and that, as an adult, I had no reason to lie. At that moment, I no longer wanted her anywhere near my hair, so I asked for a refund of my deposit. She gave it to me, and I left. In all my 40 years, I have never experienced anyone discriminating against my hair! It seems like she only wants to work with clients who don’t have 4C hair. Thank goodness I love the hair that grows from my scalp because stylists like her have made many people feel insecure about their hair texture, pushing them toward relaxers. She was extremely unprofessional and rude! You would think she was doing my hair for free! Show more

Thank you for your review. Before booking any service, it's clearly stated in the description that your hair needs to be thoroughly combed from root to ends. This requirement is also highlighted when you pay the deposit. To ensure clarity, I send a reminder text to all clients at the start of each work week. I've been working with natural hair for 25 years. Unfortunately, the repetitive strain from my work led to carpal tunnel surgeries in both hands and a rotator cuff surgery, requiring long recovery times without income. Currently, I'm experiencing issues with my middle finger knuckles, for which I have a doctor's appointment. It's crucial for clients to come with combed-out hair to avoid further injury. This is not about discrimination but about protecting my own well-being. I specialize in natural hair and am deeply committed to it, having worked with a wide range of hair types, including numerous 4C clients. I want to emphasize that your hair type is 4B, not 4C. My goal is to provide excellent service while ensuring that I can continue doing what I love without compromising my health. Thank you for your understanding.
