Restoration

Raiesha, was very sweet, but I must warn future client who wants to get permanent loc extensions. I’m sad and disappointed because I paid $1000+ plus... $100 tip for this style. Day 1- I noticed the top half of my hair wasn’t crocheted correctly. She did style ( two strand twist ). The two strand twist looked beautiful to be very transparent. However, I had to take Tylenol for the pain. They were too tight. Day 2- I woke up with a pulsating migraine, I had to take down the two strand twist. I did warn her that they were too tight while she was doing it but she said that it was because my scalp was not used to it. But again, I was so naive. They were way too tight for my head. I was in total agony that night and the next day. When I took down the twist, my hair was sticky and had a lot of residue from the mousse, gel, and spritz that were used. Day 4 - the hair started to unravel. I messaged her, and she said it was normal, but the sticky buildup got worse. She did offer to have me come in and do another style with the hair since I took down the two strand twist but I had school that day and it was her only availability for the week. That didn’t happen. To make matters worse, the hair that she initially showed me that she was buying wasn’t the hair used for my extensions. Again super naive of me. That should’ve been the first sign. The hair was extremely stiff and felt extremely prickly when they rubbed against my skin. I am hyper sensitive to strange textures against my skin. She mentioned that the locs will become less stiff with time but I couldn’t take it. It felt like I was being tortured. I kept the hair in a low ponytail and wore my bonnet. Even through the bonnet , I could feel the prickliness of the hair. By week two, some of the locs were hanging by a thread, and one finally came off in the front. I went in for her to fix it, and I mentioned that some other locs were also coming loose. She didn’t charge me for the one repair in the front but charged for the other ones and said it because they were being pulled by the ponytail. Which it’s strange because they looked like that from the moment that I took down the two strand twist. And also charged me for a minor trim that I could’ve done myself. There is absolutely no reason that I should’ve been charged $40 for that. Again, the stylist is a very sweet lady. We talked about God during the install. Her beautiful spirit is is the only reason why this is getting a 3 stars instead of way less. I kept having meltdown with each of those different issues, I would message her and she responded each time and told me that I just needed to give the loc time to mature. But it wasn’t just time , the install was not done properly at all which is why they unraveled and had heavy product build. The products used made my hair look extremely dirty , sticky and gross. There’s no reason for it to be that way after just about two weeks. I couldn’t look at my self in the mirror. It was too many things wrong. Before you do this style, please do your research. I was so naive. Long story short, I ended up just cutting off all of my hair instead of paying more money to remove the locs. I’m now bald. I used a scissors and just cut everything including my hair . I couldn’t look in the mirror anymore. I couldn’t fathom having to pay $125 every 4 weeks and having to pay additional for locs coming loose due to improper installation. I am truly sad. $1000+ down the drain in this economy is truly sad.
