Update (6/8/25): The manager of the business, Mariana Kassoma, reached out to offer me a full refund after seeing this review. I was asked to either d...elete or update my review. I’m not deleting it because I encountered this same issue multiple times, but I can appreciate that they tried to correct the situation. I will no longer be returning to Rosita. Every time I’ve brought my daughter to get braids, Rosita doesn’t do what I ask. I politely ask for the braids to be done a certain way and there’s always an excuse for why it cannot be done. Today towards the end of my daughter’s knotless braid service I asked for her hair to be braided further down and was told no because “the braids would be too long.” (The hair was already the exact length I originally asked for, but it was only braided down a little less than half way). After dipping the braids in hot water, Rosita proceeded to cut them without my permission leaving them chest length. She then still charged me $200 for chest length braids for my 11 year old. When I expressed my concern, she proceeded to get defensive and started talking about how her other clients give her good reviews. I still paid the amount because I believe in paying for services regardless, but I did not tip. As you can see in the photos, the braids are completely uneven and the actual braids themselves stop around her shoulders. If you’re the type to not speak up about what you want and don’t mind not being heard, this may be the stylist for you. I only kept going back to Rosita because she’s the closest braider I could find in Ballantyne, but after dealing with this today, I will make the trip to Guyjo Hair Braiding where the stylists actually listen and respond to reasonable requests with a positive attitude. I had an exceptional hair braiding experience with Rosita, located in Suite 116 at the Ballantyne Commons East Mall. Her space is clean, and her deep ...knowledge of hair care is truly impressive. My hair is very coily, with a zig-zag pattern that’s prone to breakage, and Rosita handled it with expertise. She styled my hair according to its specific type and texture, ensuring that each braid was carefully protected—something I haven’t always experienced elsewhere. As someone from New York, where many braiding shops are unregulated and don’t require a license, it was incredibly refreshing to have a licensed professional like Rosita who genuinely prioritizes the health of my hair while creating a true protective style. Beyond her skill, Rosita’s kindness left a lasting impression. She even brought extra food from home and shared it with me and another young client. She’s also amazing with kids, which adds to her appeal. I will return to Rosita on my next visit to the Queen City.
