I’m sorry you feel this way. On this occasion, the cancellation was due to an unavoidable family emergency. My daughter had developed a temperature while at nursery, and I had to collect her. As she has a history of having seizures when she develops a temperature, my priority had to be getting to my daughter. I work around an hour away from my home, so when I was contacted by nursery, I had to leave to collect her and couldn’t simply finish the appointment and then go home. Her safety had to come first. I gave you 5 hours’ notice of the cancellation and explained the reason at the time, so this wasn’t a cancellation without explanation or consideration. Unfortunately, there was nothing else I could have done in that situation. My regular clients are aware that this is something I occasionally have to deal with, and they know that I always do my best to give as much notice as possible when something unexpected happens. It has also been the weekend, and I do have children to look after, so I’m not constantly available to respond to messages outside of my working hours. This wasn’t me deliberately ignoring your messages. I completely understand that cancellations are frustrating, but unfortunately my daughter’s health has to come first. I’m sorry you felt the need to leave a one-star review, but I do feel that, given the circumstances and the 5 hours’ notice I provided, this situation was completely outside of my control and I handled it as best I could.
