We used to use Famous Henrys regularly in Hazel Grove and Cheadle Hulme, until we visited the Hazel Grove branch and received poor service. After wait...ing 30 mins (walk ins welcome and no appointments at that time), I was told it was appointments only. The staff were rude and we didn't go back. We visited the Cheadle Hulme branch on Saturday having seen the Walk Ins Welcome mural on the window. We sat down and then were asked if we had a booking after 5 mins. No, and there wasn't any others available until much later on. Despite there being six chairs, only two staff were working. Same as it was with Hazel Grove before it changed to Bandido. I get it, the barber shop market is ultra competitive and people can't afford to hire a chair and hope for walk-ins anymore. It has to be by bookings. We found the Wilmslow one available by booking on Sunday and had a Lads & Dads haircut. Service was okay - gone are the days of being offered a coffee or beer (cost of living I expect). We stood waiting a little bit longer before being acknowledged and then had our cuts. There wasn't any conversation so very business like. My son liked part of his haircut but that's down to personal preference. First impressions matter. I'd suggest that staff are a bit more friendly and always acknowledge people when they first walk in. I'm not sure we'll be back, we may return to our usual barber (where we do book) as the service is a little friendlier). Show more

Shay has been cutting my hair for the last 2-3 years at Famous Henry’s and he has never disappointed me. He is incredibly knowledgeable about how to c...ut hair, different cutting styles, the do’s and don’t for certain face and head shapes to get the best cut and style, he is meticulous and detailed to get the best cut and he takes his time. Ive been to other barbers where they do a generic factory cut to get you in and out for the next customer and came away with a cut that wasn’t the best for my face / head shape. So I came to Shay and he talked to me about what would work well, flow and look good with my style. Since then I have always come back to Shay as he does excellent fades, tapers and trims.
