Dear Claire, I am truly sorry that you are unhappy with the result and I understand how disappointing this has been for you. Before the perm, I asked whether you had any chemical treatments on your hair in recent years. You confirmed that you had none and that your last bleach was five years ago. I also explained that the perm lotion might affect your dark colour. After applying the lotion, a strong chemical reaction occurred. Only then did you mention that you had a keratin treatment (nano keratin) about 11 months ago. If you had told us beforehand that there were chemical products in your hair, we would not have performed this service under any circumstances. Perming is a completely standardised process — unlike colouring or bleaching. The new healthy hair that had grown after the previous keratin treatment permed beautifully and remained strong. This clearly shows that the damage was caused by the chemical reaction between the residual keratin and the perm lotion, not by the application itself. This incident caused loss for both of us — more than five hours of stylist time and materials used. Nevertheless, we immediately stopped the process, cut the hair to the necessary length with your agreement, and charged nothing for the service or products. Client safety is always our top priority.
