    Hopi Ear Candles

    Hopi ear candles are a gentle and effective method for softening and removing excess wax from the ear canal. As well as reducing blockages in the ear, hopi ear candles help to reduce the physical and emotional discomfort that blocked ears can cause. During a hopi session, an ear candle made of unbleached cotton and beeswax is placed into the ear canal and the candle is lit and then held in place and observed by the practitioner. Each ear is treated separately and as the candle gently burns down it acts like a ‘chimney’ creating a light vacuum effect, pulling excess wax up and into the candles filter. The flicker of the flame also creates vibrations that massage the eardrum. The herbal vapours from the lit candle also swirl into the ear canal, helping to soothe and balance the ear passageway.
