I have only completed two lessons, so this review may be premature. I mentioned that my dog has been through board and train at another company, think...ing one of the two trainers I've had would do a quick assessment of my dog's current obedience level so we weren't covering things unnecessarily. That didn’t happen. Instead, we just started at the beginning. My dog is in the aggression course, which starts with beginner skills. I recommend maybe having an aggressive dog class that just covers the aggression, or one that can at least be adjusted to build on existing skills after an assessment. Maybe I signed up for the wrong class, but only saw one for aggression, and that one apparently assumes no prior training. Brushing up on basic skills is never a bad thing, but I'm finding I don’t have the chance to use the ecollar because I'm not asking him to do anything he doesn’t already know. A big part of this class for me is understanding the timing of the ecollar while I'm in class, so I'm not making mistakes and freaking out a dog with what I believe is fear aggression. Show more

We had our first training lesson with John as part of the basic and advanced obedience package we purchased. When John was demonstrating his method of... training with our dog Thea and she was being very attentive and obedient , I assumed that Thea wouldn’t do the same with us. I was wrong, and John explained very well how we should engage with our dog, and we were able to make a lot of progress in just one session. Not only this, but John gave us the tools and knowledge to replicate this training at home, so we can continue to make progress until our next lesson. We are looking forward to continuing training here! Highly recommend. Show more

Such a great experience in Woodbridge, VA! This was our first refresher since completing the original 2-week boarding training, and being able to stay... in the facility the full hour this time around, as the “parent,” was such a relief because it was more like I was the one being retrained (more than my pup being the one in need of a tune-up) to take leading her better at home up a notch.
