Only giving this one star because my braids are consistent however, everything else about this visit was TERRIBLE! Me & a friend booked appointments t...o come in on a Saturday at 7:30AM. Upon arrival, and in good fashion for being to an appointment on time, I called at 7:25am to get access to the suite as it was locked. The braider told me she needed 6 minutes before she could let me in. I wasn’t surprised when I walked in to them eating food. Unprofessional problem #1. Problem #2 - When we sat in the chair 1 of 2 braiders informed me that only one of us had an appointment today. I proceeded to let her know we BOTH received confirmations and that wasn’t true. She pulls up something on her phone that showed both our names and asked was that us, we both confirmed. So they did in fact have two appointments for the same time. Problem #3 1 of 2 braiders pulls a hanger with “mock braids” on them and proceeds to ask us what size we wanted. We asked her to show us the $185 length + the 3 & 1/2 hour time frame as this is what we booked online. She shows us these BIG JUMBO braids (SEE PHOTO ATTACHED) and states this what we’re getting for $185 and as the braids got smaller on the hanger (not good visibility on photo) of course the price went up to as high as $280. We informed her that the jumbo braids for $185 wouldn’t last for what we would’ve needed them for so they begin to negotiate pricing with us. We explained to them we didn’t want to negotiate we would rather just cancel and look into booking them another time as we were not interested in short funding them due to what wouldn’t work for us. We just wanted to leave. I told them we didn’t want any issues and we would just leave but they proceeded to negotiate and convince us that if we didn’t stay they would lose money due us wanting leave the 7:30AM appointment and not having anymore clients until 12:00PM. Essentially, they didn’t want to miss out on money all day. So we negotiated for a “smedium” braid for $185. They even proceeded to inform us that there was no need to tip they just wanted us to stay for our appointment. Needless to say, we did JUST that. During the E N T I R E appointment they gossiped about the situation between each other and other braiders who were in a salon down the hallway. I knew this was being discussed because I told them we were from Tennessee and that size for that price wasn’t heard of along with some other things that I knew for certain they were discussing. Very unprofessional and rude. As the appointment came to an end, SEVEN hours later, I asked her where I could settle my balance on the Booksy app where we paid our deposit AND where it listed the remaining balance. She proceeds to inform me that the only method of payment they accept is cash app and Zelle and the Booksy app is only used for deposits….. Issue #6967 because I set aside my credit card just for this appointment. So not only did I have to make arrangements to pay by Cash App but I had to leave to go get my friend cash from the ATM. While I was away they begin to question & interrogate my friend about why I was upset. She proceeds to tell her that she’s seen us around that area before. (We are NEW to the charlotte area) and explains to her that they don’t use Booksy for their final payments because customers were complaining about the 3% increase when using their credit cards however, that’s not their issue, that’s our problem and the customer if we choose to pay that route. Cash App and Zelle should be offered an alternative payment option and not the only option. Why this wasn’t explained to me? Honestly, after the 3rd issue I was extremely frustrated with them and had enough of the entire salon. This was my very first shop braiding experience in the Charlotte area and my LAST, especially at Sita’s! This review WILL be cross posted. Hi, thank you for the review! I’ve noticed that you sent us a very negative review, so let me clarify some things . 1.) The braids you’re referring to are the jumbo braids, there ARE box braids on the hanger, many types of braids are there . 2.) Booksy makes it very clear that $185 is the starting price. Please try to understand mathematical symbols before arguing. 3.) I speak French, I can assure you no words were spoken about you or your friend during the appointments. Whether or not you choose to believe us, we have cameras. 4.) You booked 2 appointments for BOX BRAIDS, it was naturally going to take longer. 5.) You having to bring your credit card has absolutely nothing to do with me. This is a salon, I cannot control what form of payment you decide to take, I simply told you the forms of payment I use and I will make sure to clarify with clients going forward. However, you didn’t know I would use cash app and I didn’t know you would use a credit card, I am not a mind reader, I am just a braider.

I've been Paola's client for about two years now. I don't reside in Charlotte anymore but when I do come into town and want some braids done, she is t...he only person I really trust to do my braids. To me she is one of the TOP BRAIDERS in the Queen City. She's affordable, professional, courteous, and one of the fastest braiders that I know. The last time that I came into town, to get some medium lower back length knotless braids done, it took her just four hours to do my braids. This was the quickest time in comparison to the amount of time it usually takes me to get them done elsewhere. So if anyone is reading my review, I advise you to look into Sita's African Braiding Salon because I promise you, you will not be disappointed in her braiding skills. Paola is truly TOP NOTCH and one of the BEST/ FASTEST BRAIDERS out there!!! *Her sister is also a GREAT BRAIDER too!!! Show more
