Structure Gel manicure

I saw this nail tech seven times over several months for structure gel (builder gel) on my natural nails. While some appointments went fine, there wer...e some issues that culminated in a health problem at my final visit. Health Concern: At my final appointment, I showed her that one nail had separated from the gel, creating a gap. She told me I’d need to book a separate soak-off service with my next appointment. Within a week of that appointment, I developed a nail fungus in that nail. A lifted nail creates a perfect environment for infection and should have been treated as urgent, not deferred to a future appointment. Service Execution Issues: Also, at that final appointment I requested an almond nail shape and was given stiletto instead - these are very different shapes (photo attached). On natural nails, this mistake can’t be easily corrected without significant filing or waiting for regrowth. Additionally, there were a couple times throughout my visits she did not have the colors needed to match my reference photos, requiring substitutions I wasn’t happy with, but I was understanding since they are a small shop. Just a heads up to anyone who has a specific vision in mind - you may need to bring your own color. Personally, I won’t be returning. Show more

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I sincerely apologize for how the lifting of your nail was handled. In rare cases, moisture trapped under a lifted nail can cause what’s known as “greenies,”. I’ve since updated my process to ensure this is better prevented and addressed in the future. Regarding the nail color and design, I always do my best to match inspiration photos; however, many are filtered, AI-generated, or created with different materials like acrylics rather than gel. Because of this, exact color or design replication isn’t always possible, but I always aim to achieve the closest result with the products I have. The almond nail shape, which was rendered at time of service as requested are identified as naturally more rounded sides versus strastraighter sides like the stiletto shape Almond shape also has a less sharp tip. I truly appreciate you for trusting me over the past months. I always encourage open communication from my clients in ordrrin order to address any concerns right away.
