I totally agreed. If they can't have someone answering the phone to make an apt, I'm not using them any more.
The text-to-reserve reception system is a mess. They have a really standard 24-hour cancellation policy but with no accountability for lack of clarity... in their reservation procedure. I work walking distance from the Mission location and have been really excited to come in for a service; have been waiting for years to get to a place where I could reasonably afford it. Yesterday, I booked a service for this afternoon that (already within the 24-hr window that would have allowed for cancellation), forgetting that there were two separate locations. All the receptionist told me before the appointment was confirmed was the name of the stylist, so I thought I was good to go! While I was on my way to work yesterday evening, I received the confirmation text which specified that it was at the NOPA location but I didn’t see this for a couple of hours because I was at work. I texted back as soon as I saw it, letting them know that that appointment time at the NOPA location would make it so that I wouldn’t be able to get to work on time. I received no reply until the next afternoon (today, a few hours before the scheduled appointment) reminding me of the cancellation policy which was already void by the time I booked the appointment. I explained the situation and that I had tried to communicate as promptly as possible, but they held the cancellation fee, leaving me with a $50 charge and no haircut. I definitely want stylists to get paid for their time, but this was such a last minute appointment and if I had had more clarity before it was confirmed, I wouldn’t have booked it. Not considerate at all and definitely doesn’t hold the reception staff accountable! Show more
