**WARNING**: LOOK AT PICS WHAT I ASKED FOR VS WHAT SHE GAVE ME ON MY BDAY: ERIKA ADMITS SHE MESSED UP YOUR LOCS THEN WILL GASLIGHT YOU ON SOCIAL MEDIA...!!! **Original Review** Erika did try her best with the time we had. It was my birthday look and she came in early in order to do the style. She even went over for our appointment by 2 hours trying to get the look I was hoping for - but in the end the look did not look like the picture that was given. So I'm a bit sad. We did not have time when the work was done to fix it, as she was already running 2 hours late for her next client. I called back the next day to explain that the work did not look like the picture and Erika was kind enough to offer to take it all down and try to fix it after all her appointments the next day, but due to me catching a plane that next evening, I could not schedule it. So she was awesome for that. What I asked for - loc petal mohawk and flat twist going straight back (first two photos) vs what I got below. **********************REPLY to Erika's response I started the review out saying you did your best with the time we had. We both found out the style is very time consuming. We started at 8:30am and the appointment was supposed to end at 11 - but I got out 2 hours later (Receipts attached). I held the photos up the ENTIRE TIME of the appointment and EVEN offered to show you the YOUTUBE video for how the style is created cus it seemed like you were having trouble with the style (it's okay - I just want it done right) and you DECLINED the youtube video and said, "I don't need a youtube video for this style"......but the style I received DID NOT look like the pictures so clearly, so a youtube video could have been helpful here. Again, not coming at you, just want to get what I asked for. As you can see the plaits (flat twists) in my head are going up and not straight back, and the style overall is DIFFERENT - this is bangs and three vertical bunched ponytails - NOT a loc petal mohawk- even though I held the photo up the ENTIRE TIME. I recognize I should have been more firm when I felt the plaits going up my head and stopped you and told you to make it look EXACTLY like the picture. But I trusted the process and when we were done and even went over by hours, with your other client right there how can I tell you no- redo it. But again, I SHOULD have (and as you can blatantly see from the picture) not what I asked for - NO ONE, not even YOU ERIKA can deny that. BUT It's actually wild YOU say the last picture looks like it "was taken the next day and clearly shows the style wasn't protected" when actually this is how I walked right out of your salon (receipts for date and time below because I don't lie, I come w receipts) you obviously you think YOUR OWN WORK DIRECTLY OUT OF THE SALON looks MESSY and UNKEPT. Instead of attempting to gaslight me Erika, know that I do not lie, I have receipts and I would love accountability from what I thought was a loctician with integrity. No one tried to "fix" the style or EVER touched this style other than YOUR HANDS in my head (which your tiktok video implies - oh THIS ONE: https://www.tiktok.com/@locs_by_erika/video/7509691095459155230). You are obviously ASHAMED of your own work and trying to GASLIGHT your future clients into thinking I did anything to this style other than walk out and IMMEDIATELY take pictures to see how I looked. Since you are SO ASHAMED THAT YOU LET ME WALK OUT YOUR SALON LOOKING LIKE THIS, I just wish you would just be HONEST and accountable. YOU did this. No one else. YOU Erika. Hi Sasha, thank you for your feedback. I came in early to accommodate your last-minute birthday request. The style you wanted is very time-consuming, and while the appointment ran a bit over, it was nowhere near two hours. Styles like this can take longer than expected, but I made sure to communicate with my next client, and they were completely understanding. Please don’t assume otherwise. You asked multiple times for fuller petals, and although I recommended smaller ones for better hold, I followed your direction. I checked in with you during every step and you said you loved it. You smiled, approved the look, and received several compliments from others in the salon. When you called afterward, I explained the style would need to be taken down completely to be redone. I couldn’t cancel my booked clients, but I still offered to fix it after 5 PM. It’s not my fault you had a flight—we simply couldn’t find a time that worked. I tried my best to accommodate you within reason. Most stylists wouldn’t offer to redo a style after the client approved it and left happy, but I did. The photo you posted was taken the next day and clearly shows the style wasn’t protected, which affects its appearance. In the future, please speak up if something doesn’t feel right in the moment. I no longer feel comfortable doing your hair, but I truly hope you find a Loctician who aligns better with your vision. Wishing you all the best—and a beautiful birthday. — Locs By Erika

Erika truly saved the day! I had an appointment for a retwist with my regular loctician, but unfortunately, she had to cancel due to illness. With my ...aunt's funeral the next day, I desperately needed someone to help me out, and thankfully, Erika had an opening. From the moment I arrived, Erika was incredibly sweet and made me feel right at home. As someone who is still new to the loc life, I had plenty of questions, and she took the time to answer each one thoroughly. Our conversation was enjoyable, and I appreciated how she went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable throughout the process. The results of my retwist were fantastic; Erika's skills are truly impressive! I feel so fortunate to have discovered her, especially since my regular loctician will be moving away soon.
