After shampooing her hair five times to remove glue residue, which damaged my brushes, I recommended a deep conditioning mask to strengthen and hydrate her hair. She agreed. Once her hair was blow-dried, we saw significant breakage in the front and back. I showed her the damage and suggested an initial cut to even it out while keeping as much length as possible. After the cut, her hair looked like a mullet, which I knew she wouldn't like. I recommended reducing the length in the back to balance the shape. She understood and authorized me to proceed. After balancing the back with the front, she requested curls. I styled her hair with curls and created a bang as best as I could, considering the top's condition. She was happy with the style and service until it was time to pay. She thought the deep conditioning mask and haircut were complimentary. She then called her boyfriend and used offensive language towards me in my suite and even louder in the hallway. This behavior made me feel threatened and scared. Such conduct is never acceptable in any professional salon. I was simply doing my job.
