I want to comprehensively review my recent encounter with Tonya’s services to provide constructive feedback on the overall customer experience. Upon ...learning about Tonya through a referral from my hairstylist, I was genuinely enthused about the prospect of her remarkable craft. While her technical skills are undoubtedly impressive, it is essential to address some aspects of the customer service encountered during my recent visit. Scheduling adjustments were required due to my son's basketball commitments, and Tonya graciously accommodated these changes. Subsequently, when I received a message on Tuesday, the tone in the text message, while understandable given the unpredictability of scheduling, was notably distant. Upon arrival at the service, I was informed of a delay, a common occurrence in the industry, and I understood the dynamics at play. However, challenges arose when my son, eager to experience Tania's expertise, finally settled into her chair. A request to wash my son's hair through her system was met with enthusiasm, as some professionals charge extra for this service. However, subsequent moments during the session raised concerns. Tonya’s expressed discomfort with lint in my son's hair, originating from his blanket, and told me to handle it! Furthermore, Tonya requested that I handle my son's phone. We all know how 13 and 14-year-old kids are nowadays, where the phone is glued to their hands, which can cause friction when getting their hair done. But please keep this in mind. This is my son‘s first time, and he was only 10 seconds into the chair when she called me over to say that I have to take away his phone because she would not deal with it! Once again, the tone and communication were highly uncomfortable. Which almost warranted me into wanting to leave. Despite these challenges, it is crucial to acknowledge that I did tip, recognizing the excellence in Tania's craftsmanship. However, the customer service experience, particularly the tone, and approach, created an atmosphere that warrants refinement. Show more

I opted for the two strand twist method for starter locs because of my hair type and style preference..., and she was very clear about what I was getting myself into lol! They turned out beautifully, they are not coming apart, they are neat and symmetrical. Will visit again. Show more
