I've trained with Jay for BJJ and wrestling for a while now, and it’s easily one of the best places to learn and improve. Jay has excellent knowledge ...and does a great job breaking everything down in a way that’s easy to understand, whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. The training environment is top-notch, everyone is respectful, helpful, and focused on getting better. If you're looking for quality coaching and a solid group to train with, this is the place to be. Highly recommend. Show more
My son (10) has been learning and training under Jay now for several months and he has gone from a complete rookie with no prior Jiu-Jitsu experience,... to advancing to a happy and successful practitioner of the art. He learns lots each session and is always excited to show me. There is a nice community of Little Ninjas (juniors) and they all get along and push one another to advance. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) offers numerous benefits for children, both physically and mentally. Physical Benefits 1.Improved Fitness: BJJ builds strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health, keeping children active and healthy. 2.Coordination and Motor Skills: The movements and techniques develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as body awareness. 3.Self-Defence: It teaches practical techniques for self-defence in a controlled, safe environment. 4.Weight Management: Regular practice helps burn calories and promotes a healthy lifestyle, especially for children who may be less active. Mental and Emotional Benefits 1.Confidence: Learning new skills and mastering techniques can significantly boost self-esteem and self-assurance. 2.Resilience: BJJ encourages perseverance, as children learn to overcome challenges and failures. 3.Focus and Discipline: The structured environment helps children develop concentration, patience, and respect for instructors and peers. 4.Stress Relief: Physical activity can help reduce stress and anxiety, improving overall mental well-being. Social Benefits 1.Teamwork and Camaraderie: Training in groups fosters friendships and teaches the importance of working together. 2.Respect and Humility: BJJ instils respect for others and humility, as there’s always something new to learn. 3.Conflict Resolution: By focusing on technique rather than aggression, children learn to handle conflicts in a calm and controlled manner. Lifelong Skills 1.Problem-Solving: BJJ is like a physical chess game, teaching children to think strategically and adapt to challenges. 2.Body Confidence: It helps kids feel comfortable in their own skin, which is particularly valuable as they grow and develop. All in all, my son benefits a lot from Jays classes and he hopes one day to compete and work through the belt system (something that for him was a very proud achievement) Show more

Good place for submission grappling
I have been training with Jay and the team for a couple of months now. Cracking group of lads ranging from 14+. All of the sessions are immensely insi...ghtful and full of constructive discussions on technical aspects of Jiu Jitsu. Couldn’t recommend the club more for anyone looking to start their journey in BJJ, or higher belts looking for some tough rounds🤙🏻 Show more
