My autistic son's first haircut was at a barber's. Those of you with autistic children will completely understand how difficult this is with their sen...sory needs. For years, we've tried everything, different clippers, different capes/covers so the hair doesn't touch their body, different distractions, different areas/chairs, etc. Normally, there are meltdowns, tears for all, such an intense experience. Well, after years of perseverance, we finally went for it. Booked online via Booksy, then the day before, we rang to pre-inform them of his Autism. They told us not to worry, that they had experience with their family and assured us that all would be ok. On arrival, we were greeted by the owners who talked to our son and got him settled in the chair. They explained everything, and they had quiet clippers, so this helped. My son was babbling away in his Canadian accent, asking loads of questions, and they coped well with him. The result is a happy child who now keeps asking to go back. I can't thank these guys enough, although only a small achievement for some this was huge for us and something to celebrate. Would recommend for sure 👌 Show more
