Passwords: A Resource Guide for Booksy Professionals

Roxie-Moodlash-Self-Made (edited)

When it comes to creating and using passwords, there’s a long list of how-to guides and resources that can make the whole process seem overwhelming. To make sure you’re able to successfully run your business on Booksy by keeping your account information secure, here’s a short guide on passwords to answer our most commonly asked questions.

Simply put, a password is just a word, phrase, or a string of characters that only lets an authorized user gain access to your account. Passwords in the Booksy app corroborate your identity to make sure you're the person using your business platform. And when paired with a username, a strong password provides network security.

Keep reading to find out how to make sure you always have access to your Booksy account. Learn how to change or reset your password and how to regain access to your Booksy account if you can’t remember or misplace your password.

Creating New Passwords

There’s a list of reasons why you may need to change or reset your password. First and foremost, it’s a good practice to reset your passwords every three months. But if you’re changing a password because you’ve simply forgotten it—the process to gain access back into your Booksy account is very similar to resetting your password.

Forgotten Booksy Password

If you forget your Booksy password you can always get back into your Booksy account by entering the email address associated with your account in the login screen. When asked for your password, use the Forgot Password option. We’ll send you an email with instructions to reset your password and get back into your Booksy account

Changing a Booksy Password

Start by bringing up your Booksy account by entering the email address associated with your account in the login screen. Be prepared to use the Forgot Password option, instead of entering a password. Then, follow these steps to create a new password in minutes:

  1. To reset your Booksy password use the Forgot Password option.
  2. From the login screen select Get Started.
  3. Enter your email address in the appropriate field.
  4. In the next screen, click Forgot Password
  5. Look for an email from Booksy with instructions on how to reset your password.

Resetting Staff Passwords

The process for changing passwords for staffers is pretty much the same process as it is for business owners. After entering the email address associated with your Booksy account, remember to use the Forgot Password option to reset your password.

If your staffer needs to update the email address they use to log in to their Booksy account, you can make that change in the app by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Staff Management & Resources.
  2. Choose the staff member from your list.
  3. Use the Pencil Icon to edit the staff member’s information.
  4. Update their email address and resend the invite.

Additional Password Tips

In today’s business world, passwords are a critical part of network security. Although we go through great lengths to ensure your information stays safe, passwords help protect against unauthorized access. But a poorly chosen password could put your business at high risk.

Use strong passwords to provide the first line of defense against unauthorized access to your Booksy account. And that also means making sure that your passwords are always a secret. Take note of these ten tips to make sure that your business stays safe against harmful threats:

  • Avoid using the same password for a number different apps or websites
  • Consider changing your password every three months
  • Never share devices with others that may have saved passwords
  • Avoid using simple words and phrases in passwords
  • Use random combinations of numbers, letters, and symbols
  • Remember that longer passwords are usually better
  • Add special symbols and numbers into your passwords (#, $, @)
  • Use both uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Forbid employees from using the same passwords for personal and work accounts
  • If you must share a password, change it when the other person finishes using it
