How much does Booksy cost?

We will provide you with a free trial to get to know the app and how it works. After the trial period, the total cost depends on the number of staff members on the account. The base cost is $29.99 per month plus $20 per month for each additional staff member.

How does the free trial work?

Try out the complete suite of Booksy features and functionality risk-free. You do not need to enter your credit card information to sign up for the free trial, and are free to cancel or subscribe at any time.

Whose contact info should I enter when registering a business?

You should enter the details of the business owner, or the person who conducts business on behalf of the owner. This person will be able to manage the business profile, receive all business-related notifications, and get information about app and product updates.

Can I choose more than one business category?

Yes. You can choose any number of categories for the business. For example, if your business offers haircuts and massages, you can select these two categories. Your business will be listed in both of these categories in the basic application window.

Tip: We recommend listing your business in the categories of your core services, not your supplemental services.

How do I set up a business with two addresses?

There are two ways to set this up. You could create separate accounts for both business locations, and allow customers to select a specific location. You also have the option to merge these two accounts, which would enable you to switch between these businesses using a single login. If you would like to merge multiple accounts, contact us at info.us@booksy.com.

Does Booksy offer free text messaging?

We do! Appointment reminders and system generated notifications are always free. Beyond that, we also include up to 2,000 free marketing SMS messages to ensure that you have all of the tools you need to keep your customers in the know. Any additional marketing messages are billed at $0.01 per SMS. 

Additional Staff Members

Can I set different working hours for each of my staff members?

Of course. You can set different working hours for every staff member associated with your account.

If a staff member works the same days and times every week (e.g. every Monday the employee works between 9 AM and 3 PM, and every Tuesday between 1 PM and 8 PM, etc), then these working hours can be set automatically under Staff Management & Resources.

To add more variation to their working hours, visit the Calendar to "block" specific hours when the staff member is unavailable. To do so, add a "Time Reservation" with all appropriate details.

By defining working hours for staff members, customers will be able to see and select their appointments based on who is available.

Can my staff members also use Booksy to manage their calendar from their smartphones?

Yes. As the owner of the Booksy account, you can invite staff to download the app on their mobile device. With the app, they can manage appointments, access client details, view their calendar, checkout clients, and more. All from the palm of their hand.

There are multiple staff members on my account. Who has access to Checkout and POS?

You decide who has access to the Checkout features by assigning different access levels to staff members. Staff members at the Staffer or Reception level will only have access to the checkout process, and will not be able to view POS statistics, inventory, or settings. For extra security, always remember to use Reception Mode for shared devices.

Can I assign an employee to a certain service or category?

Yes, you can assign each employee either to specific services or all the services your business offers. To make changes, go to the Staff Management & Resources settings. 

Here you can:

  • Add or remove a staff member
  • Assign a staff member to chosen services
  • Input their time off
  • See appointments and commissions assigned to a specific employee
  • Assign staff specific working hours, if they differ from the working hours of your business. It is important to check these times for each staff member, as it will determine when they are available for appointments.

How does Boost work?

Booksy Boost is our unique marketing toolkit designed to keep your calendar full. Boost raises your search ranking in the Marketplace, and gives you more visibility on the Booksy platform. Learn more about how Boost keeps your calendar full.

How much does Boost cost?

There is no monthly fee to use Boost. Instead, whenever we find a new client for you, you pay a one-time commission fee on their first visit. For any appointments that client makes with you after that, you keep 100%. The tip, of course, is always 100% yours.

Minimum Boost Fee - There is a minimum commission fee of $10 for free services* or for services where 30% of the service’s price is less than $10. 

*If a free service is booked with a priced service where the commission for the priced service is $10 or more, the minimum commission fee will not be applied to the free service.

Maximum Boost Fee - The maximum commission fee for a client’s first visit is $100. We will never take more than that. 

What if a client books an appointment with more than one service?
If their first visit consists of several services, we calculate the commission by adding up the commissions calculated for each booking separately.

Let's have a look at a few examples:

  • $0 free consultation = $10 (minimum commission fee)
  • $50 haircut + $0 free consultation = $15 (30% of $50 haircut) + $0 (free services are not charged a commission fee when booked with a priced service) = $15 commission
  • $50 haircut + $10 consultation = $15 (30% of $50 haircut) + $3 (30% of $10 consultation) = $18 commission
  • $10 haircut + $5 consultation = $3 (30% of $10 haircut) + $1.5 (30% of $5 consultation) = $10 (minimum commission fee). 
  • $150 highlight + $350 extension application = $100 (maximum commission fee)
Is there a maximum fee for clients I receive through Boost?

Yes, the maximum commission fee on clients you get through Boost is $100 for standard services and $10 for consultations or other “free“ offerings. Remember, this commission is only charged on the clients’ first visit. 

How will I know that I got new clients through Booksy Boost?

Visit your Boost Dashboard (Marketing > Boost) to see the total number of clients you received through Boost and your total revenue from Boost. On average, users saw a 60% increase in bookings after 6 months of using Boost. 

How do I claim a client on Boost?

We do our best to keep it all straight, but you're busy and sometimes we can't keep up with you. When you get a new client through Boost they will appear in your Boost Details section (Marketing > Boost > Boost Details). These clients will also be tagged "1st Visit.” If you see a client attributed to Boost that you acquired via your own marketing efforts, tap the "Claim" button to begin the claims process. Once your claim is confirmed, we'll process a refund for any associated commission fees within seven business days. Please note the deadline to submit a Boost claim will be synced with your unique subscription billing period.

Just check your Boost clients on the same day you check your Booksy subscription billing.

Example: Let's say your billing period is from the 5th to the 4th. If you have an appointment on January 28th, you will have until the end of the billing period (February 4th) plus 7 days (February 11th) to submit a Boost claim for that appointment.

How do I prevent accidental Boost charges?

Here are some ways that you can help us prevent accidental commission charges.

Add walk-ins to your client list: If you see a new walk-in client, be sure to add their contact information to your Booksy contact list before they leave your shop.

Share your Booksy profile link: Include your unique link on your website and business cards to help separate existing clients from new clients who find you through Boost.

Double-check Instagram: Make sure that your Instagram Book button is routing to your personal Booksy link.

Double-check Facebook: Make sure that your Facebook Book Now button is routing to your personal Booksy link.
