The Time is Right: April Holiday Promotions

Unfortunately, there are no holidays in April. Just kidding! We kick off April with April Fools’ Day (and Easter!) As April is both National Humor Month and National Pet Month, this is bound to be a time of fun. We’ve got loads of events that may be perfect for promoting your business- and that’s no joke! 

April 1st: April Fools' Day and Easter

While the serious religious holiday and the day for pranksters may seem like an odd pair, both April Fools’ and Easter are popular promotional times. So whether you take the  peeps or punk’d approach, there will be plenty of people clamoring for your time.

3rd April: World Party Day

You gotta fight! For your right! To paaaaarty! Your shop should always be a fun place- but now you have a perfect excuse to make even a Tuesday exciting. Want to give them a reason to celebrate? Throw in a free product or add-on service and you’ll have them looking Friday-fabulous mid-week.

7th April: National Beer Day (US) and World Health Day

Not enough partying for you crazy kids? If you’re in the US, there is also National Beer Day, so maybe add some free beer to the mix. Partied out? April 7th is also World Health Day. So help your clients develop healthy habits by encouraging them to visit the shop regularly.

10th April: National Siblings Day

Two, three, four… for the price of one! Get clients into the shop with a special sibling promotion. The more siblings, the better the discount per person! Parents will LOVE you for this special.

April 11th: National Pet Day

Pets make everyone’s day better! Pet groomers, this is a great holiday for you. Not in the pet industry but want to still celebrate in a hygienic, allergy-free way? Have clients bring pics of their pets to the shop for a small discount. Better yet, use pets for a tipping war- such as “dogs” vs. “cats”

April 22nd: Earth Day

This is a particularly important holiday you can celebrate all month. Do things like collect plastic, pull tabs or bottle caps to promote doing your part. Perhaps you can help people find more eco-friendly products (which you undoubtedly carry ;) ) and ways to conserve water. Definitely reward green behavior by helping your clients save a little green of their own.

April 23rd: World Book Day

As an important part of the community you can do tremendous good! Why not encourage clients to bring in their favorite books to create a library at your shop? Or offer kids a free service if they read to you while you work? 

April 28th: National Superhero Day

Another great tipping war option- one you can do all month! People vote for their favorite superhero by putting money in the tip jar linked to that character. Narrow down the list bracket style until there are 2 left. Then, announce the winner on Superhero Day along with special discounts for superhero themed outfits or accessories.
