Under new ownership. I’ve been coming here for 4 years, and never have I had an experience like yesterday. Ahmed wasn’t in, and there was a new guy. ...The first red-flag should have been the clearly visible cigarette smoke and smell lingering inside the shop - which he sprayed away after he finished his phone call. I sit down in the chair, and the guy starts cutting my hair straight away. He doesn’t ask what I want, so I interrupt, and explain that I want a skin fade, and a tidy up on top - a pretty standard cut. I trust the process, but I feel that he has no idea what he’s doing - I give him the benefit of the doubt, as I’ve always had great service here previously. And then he says, it’s done, do you like it? At this point, the skin fade is all over the place, it’s not faded, different heights, different lengths - absolutely awful - and he hadn’t cut the top at all. I wasn’t sure if he was joking, but it was clear he was serious - I explained that this wasn’t a fade, and mentioned that he hadn’t cut the top of my hair. He pulled my hair back tightly when cutting the top - it hurt! He cut my hair it with no care, or sense of direction. He continued to make an absolute mess of the fade - I decide at this point that I want him to stop fixing it whilst I still have hair, so I can go to another barber shop. He asked again if I was happy with it, I said no, but it is what it is - I didn’t trust he had the skill to fix it, and I didn’t want him to style it - I just wanted to go to another barbers asap. He then proceeds to try and style it despite me saying leave it - burning my head with a hairdryer in the process! At this point I move away from him and ask him to stop. I pay and I get out, immediately going to another barber - who thought my hair was cut 2 weeks ago, it was that bad! I never leave bad reviews, it’s not worth my time, but this was honestly such a bad experience that I feel obliged to warn other people who liked this barber for their previous high standards. Saif, the old barber has moved down to Kensington Salon. He does a great job, and is where I’ll be going from now on. Show more
