Restyle and blowdry

This was my first time at the salon. I originally booked a restyle and blowdry, but during the visit the stylist agreed to also colour my hair — which... I appreciated, as I was happy to get it done the same day. Overall, my hair looks quite good. However, I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons (photos attached): • I was given a glass of water in a visibly dirty glass, which was not pleasant. • In my booking note and during the visit I clearly mentioned that I have several fresh piercings in my left ear and asked for caution. Unfortunately, after the visit I noticed traces of hair dye around the piercing area, which is concerning to me. • During the colouring process, the stylist accidentally dropped the dyeing brush on the floor. Unfortunately, instead of cleaning it or using a new one, he continued using the same brush on my hair. I still appreciate the haircut and the stylist’s willingness to fit me in for colour, but I believe these hygiene and safety issues should be taken seriously. UPDATE (09/04/2025) and explanation why I have changed from 3 star to 1 star review: Firstly, clean glasses served to clients are not about being “a hotel” – they are about basic hygiene and professionalism. A stained glass is simply not acceptable in a professional setting. Secondly, I made it clear multiple times during the appointment that I had fresh ear piercings. Despite that, dye still got onto the skin around the area, which I found concerning and avoidable. As for the tinting brush that fell to the floor – the stylist picked it up from the floor and immediately continued using it on my hair. I didn’t have time to raise the issue before it was already back in use. Simply wiping a brush does not ensure it’s clean, especially when it touches the floor. And finally, the comment about the cleanliness of my hair was completely inappropriate. My hair had been washed earlier that day, and such a remark felt unnecessarily personal, unprofessional, and frankly quite offensive. thankyou for your interesting review i am pleased to hear that you are happy with your colour and cut and blowdry. however with regards to comments re our glass being stained with a slight cofee stain, we do regulary de stain them once a week, we must specify that we are not a hotel and we feel that the quality of our hairdressing is of more importance than our glasses. regarding your peicing colours can stain the skin and the area couldnt be wiped too excessively, as an ex hairdresser im sure you will be aware of this. the tinting brush was dropped but when picked up of the floor your must have not noticed it being wiped with a wipe at the side of the draw. in my defence why did you not point out these factors whilst in the salon as we could have instantly corrected . by the way next time you visit a salon make sure your HAIR is clean as i forgot to mention this to you as part of hygiene you are welcome to frequent Russos AS WE PRIDE ON OUR 246 5 STAR REVIEWS YOUR REVIEW WILL CERTAINLY MAKE US MORE AWARE OF CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU AND TRY HARDER THAN WHAT US HAIRDRESSERS DO ALREADY THANKYOU
