    Life Coaching / Structural Coaching

When working with Andy your sessions will include looking back at the teachings of your childhood, the rules, the perceptions and beliefs that you have carried from childhood and investigate where these align with your true personal perspectives, goals and beliefs. Or which may in fact be conflicting with them and creating blockages in your life progress. In short the sessions are about looking at your entire structure of mind, body, spirit, habits, perspectives, beliefs and limitations, to the very foundations of your life, and helping you to optimise your life structure in your own way. The purpose is to enable you to build your future on strong foundations that are rooted within your true essence and personality and with solid grounding in the world we live in. Just because we were taught a certain way and live by a certain set of rules and habits, does not mean that this reflects who we truly are or who we are meant to be. We are typically conditioned to a set of rules and perspectives of how the world works by the age of 8, by our parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, piers, teachers, guides and guardians. By all parties with authority and influence over us as a child. How we perceive them and their perspectives shapes how we believe the world works, but this perspective is only based on these limited influences, and is therefore often flawed. There is no judgment here, in reality every child grows up with this same limitations. The key to growth and development is to understand that this is a limitation and to learn to open our eyes and look at the world as a conscious individual. This will allow us, of any age, to be able to form our own understanding of the world and more importantly of ourselves and our place in the world, free from any limiting perceptions, rules and expectations from those who raised us. Gaps in knowledge, understanding and perspective from our childhood can make the world a difficult place for us to navigate and make it difficult for us to achieve what we believe we want. In my own experience this related to the handling of money. I was never wanting for money as a child but also because of this I was ignorant of how to handle money, budget and most importantly save effectively for the future. This amongst other such shortcomings in the education by my parents created significant gaps in my structural stability of this world. In order for me to have a solid financial foundation in life I have had to work on breaking my old learned habits and relearning new ones. With a family, mortgage, pension, bills and debts and decades of bad habits this was not a simple matter, but it needed to be done. If we ignore these shortcomings or simply accept them as such without realising that we have the power and ability to challenge and change them, then those aspects of our lives will cause us to frequently fall short. As adults we often maintain the expectation of ourselves that we should know everything and we should have the skills we need to survive by the age of adulthood. This is commonly imposed upon us and impressed upon us and expected of us by those around us. So in these times we may simply bluff our way through or continue to go along with old habits and limited practises. Instead if we are able to accept that in some areas, because of our upbringing, we are still children, we are still ignorant, we do not know the best way, the most effective way or we simply are not experienced enough, then we can give ourselves permission to learn and grow. In order to rebuild ourselves it is important to consider who we are right back to our core. There is immense value with looking at our structure as a whole and ensuring that our foundations are solid and grounded and stable. Otherwise, as we strive to build our future, we may be building upon a weakened structure and we are likely to encounter the same failures and shortcomings. Alternatively we may find ourselves learning an endless stream of deflections and coping mechanisms instead investigating our past and the 'family rule book' upon which we have based our opinions habits and practices. By laying out our core beliefs we can seek to uncover any weaknesses within that fundamental foundation and structure of our lives. Only once these are strong can we build a future that is truest to ourselves and to our personal beliefs, ideals, wants and goals.

    Emotional Therapy (counseling)

Emotional Therapy is a very direct form of counselling that gets to the heart of the matter. The process aims to identify the emotional triggers we carry from childhood and traumatic events that have ripple effects across our daily lives and even into our future. We may not even associate the trigger with the cause until we put the pieces together and ask the key question "why?" Why do we act a certain way? Why do we say or wear or only eat certain things, or not say or wear or eat certain things? Why do some words, people or actions trigger an emotional response? And most importantly... Where, when and who did these come from? Once we start to identify the root causes of our daily actions then we can begin to unpick those that are not true to us. Those which were placed upon us by others. Then we can start to regain control over our daily and future choices and actions, instead of living through subconscious defence mechanisms from our past that affect how we live day to day.
