Overall a solid 3.9 but didn’t make the cut of a 4. The venue gave a great general first impression as it was very sporty, well lit and a nice staff.... The music was mainly hip-hop and uncensored. I used to be cool with that in general in my 20’s, but now that I’m 30 w/ 2 children I prefer the censored version of certain styles of music, or jazzy style, classical, Spanish music without lyrics, or old school r&b like Sade. In any case the atmosphere was live & the barbers were having a good time. Now for the haircut. There’s a new wave of barbers who elect to use some sort of spray for your hairline and I feel like that’s a vice that cripples their level of accountability. I don’t like it. The fact that my hairline can be washed away in the shower just doesn’t sit well with me. If you’re gonna finish my haircut with a fake spray finish for my hairline. I should be able to come in every day after my shower and have you spray it back on with no additional charge and the barber should be up front and forward about offering this service. Either that or get better at making straight hairlines. If the barber would have been able to, without any comfortable pseudo hairline spray, give me 90 degree edges at the corner of my hairline, he would be in the 4.1-4.4 range. I am grateful though that he didn’t cut my eyebrows without my permission. He asked, instead of just doing what he thought I would like and for that I’m very appreciative. I don’t like my eyebrows cut and I have had barbers just cut away out of the blue. I’m new to town and still searching for the barber quality I had before I left California & this will not be my barber home in Texas. Regardless of all of that, I still feel like the confident business owner, veteran, father that I am & I’m gonna proudly wear this haircut around for the next week or so. Probably the best cut I’ve ever gotten Andrews the guy. Did a low taper into a blowout and left about 4 inches on top. had long hair to start and he t...ook his time taking the bulk off using clipper over comb and then fading. The low taper was perfect he didn’t go too high and blended it with the blowout in the back perfectly, And for the top didn’t take too much of like most barbers do.
