When I visited Christophers the barber, I experienced a service I did not expect I would receive. I told him what I specifically wanted for my haircut... and tried to visually show him.But he decided to go his own route and to say the least, I did not like my haircut. When it was my younger brother’s turn, I requested for him to fade a bit higher towards the back , but he still wasn’t following my directions. I respectfully approached him and guided him to what I wanted for my brother’s haircut, but I was met with eye rolls and a subtle but clear mumble of “Ay, Dios Mio!” I don’t have to speak Spanish to understand exactly what he meant when he said it, but I decided to keep it respectful and allow him to finish. When it was time to pay, he only accepted cash (which I wasn’t made aware of, not even through his Booksy page) and he didn’t even have the decency to accept the money from my hand after I used the in-store ATM to withdraw the necessary amount. He instead sent another coworker to receive the money. Throughout the time, other Hispanics would come in trying to sell food or products and the whole shop didn’t have any issues engaging in conversation with them, even if they declined. But when a formally dressed black man came in trying to sell cakes and desserts, they all simply ignored him and did not even bat an eye towards his direction. It was saddening that my brother and I were the only black people in there that acknowledged the man, at least enough to decline the offer. The quality of his work and the treatment of me and my brother isn’t consistent with what was displayed in his portfolio and I do think it’s because he has a lack of respect for us as black men. I am so sorry to heard that my job is make my clients happy, not always the things go as we want because I tried my best for you and you brother without knowing you guys weren’t liking it my apologies. You never show me a picture you just said what you want and i follow your suggestions is very immature that someone think for the skin color is getting a different treatment. By the way do you see my color? The Hispanic girl who came with food thats my wife thats why i was talking to her, the one who take the money at the end thats my DAD i asked him to please take the money because i was so hungry and i was working since 9am. The guys from the deseert always come because thats his job sometimes we buy cake sometimes we dont want and is acceptable also i dont speak English and 90% of my clients are dark skin and we get along. Again i am really sorry to heard that from you, booksy is a real app and my reviews are not fake I completely understand not everybody like the same thing but its ok because from 100 reviews this is the first one with one start and its not a review for the cut is more skin color review! I hope you fine the correct barber and remember SKIN COLOR DOES NOT MAKE US DIFFERENT! Blessings
