Firstly let me say that the staff are so lovely, especially the owner! It gave me chaotic vibes but in a loveable way. However, bless him, I'm not su...re he was fully equipped to do blow drys. I didn't wanna say anything because everyone has their way of doing things but the straightners definitely needed renewing and I could feel the harshness of the metal wands on my hair, it felt scratchy almost which is what you want to avoid with hair accessories as the smoother the better, less damage. I wasn't offered a drink and the experience wasn't relaxing my neck hurt whilst getting my hair washed, water cold & during the blow dry he did poke me in the eye a few times so much so they watered and got my face with the wire from the dryer a fair few times. I think that there is so much potential for them to be better but potential retraining within women's treatments may be needed in order for things to be 10/10. I was also expecting to be upstairs in the salon not the barbers but to be fair to him he did say that he was understaffed! No hate to any of them again, I just like to be honest and give constructive criticism. As I did want the experience to be relaxing and for the blow dry to be long lasting but both didn't really happen. Thankyou for your time nonetheless:) Show more

I’m sorry to say this was one of the worst hairdresser experiences I’ve ever had! First of all, I experienced a very heavy-handed wash. Usually this... is my favourite part of getting my hair done as it’s so relaxing but the technique was so harsh my scalp hurt and my eyes were watering. I’m quite shy so didn’t say anything but the hairdresser noticed my discomfort at length and simply said “I have to be tough to get the hair to do what I want”. After the wash was over, the stylist roughly blow dried my hair almost all the way with a paddle brush and then started curling it with straighteners before it was even fully dry. Obviously I wasn’t expecting any styling of this kind as I’d just booked for a blow dry (i.e. styling with a dryer and round brush). I don’t like to use straighteners on my hair as it’s quite coarse and curly. The stylist also didn’t use any kind of hydrating product (just a spritz of heat protectant). I stopped them when I noticed the straighteners and asked if they could continue with the round brush and dryer instead. The stylist told me that the straighteners were “better” (I thought this was odd) but begrudgingly picked up the round brush and tried to continue that way. He clearly didn’t know what he was doing with the round brush at all. I stopped them halfway through and went home because I’d been there such a long time at this point and thought I could do a better job myself. The stylist was very defensive and confrontational when I asked to leave, accusing me of just not liking a man doing my hair. I hate to leave a bad review but it really was a bad experience and I wouldn’t want anyone else to sit through the same - I can’t speak for the haircuts but I was disappointed with the blow dry.
