Seeing all the great reviews here makes me feel sad because my experience was quite the opposite. I booked a hair colour appointment with Sheryl last ...week, showing her a picture of the red shade I wanted (left image). Unfortunately, the final result (right image) was no different from my original hair before the appointment. I told her I wasn’t happy with the outcome, as I was expecting a vibrant red like the picture I showed her. Despite this, she still charged me the full price. When I politely asked for a discount, she refused and said, "I’m not the bigger person." After getting your hair done, you should feel happy and excited, but I left feeling completely disappointed, like I had wasted both my money and time. I won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone. SORRY!! ### I’m responding here because I’m unable to send a second reply…. Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to clarify that at the time of my booking and during the first appointment, I wasn’t told that lightening would be needed to achieve the look I wanted. It was only after the colour didn’t work that I was offered another appointment for lightening at £85, with a £15 discount. If I had known from the start that lightening was necessary, I would have booked for that straight away instead of paying for two appointments. Hope this clears things up! Show more

Hi Ireen I'm so sorry you felt this way. And you didn't enjoy your experience at the art of. Here we pride ourselves in making the experience with us 5 star. In consultation Sheryl did explain to you that your hair wouldn't lift as vibrant as you had wanted in your inspiration photo without lightening your hair first. You had said that you did not want lightener on your hair. Therefore I believe Sheryl had already told you that she wouldn't be able to achieve the vibrancy without doing so. Your inspiration picture won't be achievable without lightening your hair first. You accepted that and agreed to what service Sheryl explained would be the outcome.

My first visit to the salon and as a local resident I could not be more psyched to have ...discovered such an amazing salon on my doorstep! From the aesthetics of the interior design to the products used AND EVEN THE CHAIRS that vibrate as you have your hair washed - sublime. Sheryl was also super relaxed, professional and relatable.
